Q:

Tophat adjustment

Okay, so I just read WOK’s sticky about tophat adjustment, and it sounds pretty simple. Only one question – are all feeler gauges metric, or is there a standard one I should be getting? As I look at my tank, and then think about turning it down to .070 of a millimeter, that seems like a MIGHTY small gap between the tophat and the top of the valve. Could someone explain to me (preferrably with a picture), what this should look like?
Thanks,
Chris

Three things come to mind. One, write down what it was from the factory so you’ll remember. Two, be VERY careful when tightening down the set screws. I got carried away and put dents in my valve. Three, use lock tight after you decide where you want it at.

I beleive that .070 is actually inches, not mm.
standard size feelers are available at any auto parts store cheap.

.070 is a fraction of an inch, it is equal to 1.778 mm
