Q:

Tri-Rail AND high rings

So when I installed the tri rail, I knew I’d have to adjust the elevation up more to zero. I had to adjust WAY up to do it, after adjusting up when I first installed the scope without the rail. I don’t know how much elevation adjustment is left on the scope, but it must be close to maxed out. Had to come up 3 or 4 more inches to zero at 20 yrds.

Wondering if it’s stressing the scope in anyway when adjusted so far out in any direction and left that way? Or maybe medium high rings when used with rail? Sure is more comfortable to shoot like this tho.

Good input, thanks. Another thing that now crosses my mind is a bubble level that attaches to my scope. I’m thinking even the slightest “Cant” with the barrel bore and scope center being so far apart could effect accuracy, and a bubble level would help keep things vertical.

The option that I’m going to use is a 11mm to Weaver adapter on the tri-rail with Burris Signature rings in order to keep my scope optically centered. This way I will have full use of the adjustments. The Burris Signature rings will also prevent ring marks on the scope and won’t stress the scope like shimming can. It’s too bad they don’t make them in 11mm and have verified that they don’t.

I realize this will raise the scope up having the tri-rail and adapter but will just get the right height rings to keep it at a comfortable height.

With such minimal recoil it should not be a problem.
When you run out of elevation you want to raise your rear mount. You have a few options.
Adjustable mounts.
Drooper rail.
Or shim.
