changed the front spring to a heavier one

under the sear or the intermediate?

got it sused now….i used a valve spring from my theoben rapid parts to put a stronger sear spring in

thanks to all for their help//

😀 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀

Close enough. So that’s not the problem then. Have you set the barrel flush with the opening of the frame? Try a stock hammer to start eliminating possibilities

will do that

measured my 3 other barrels and the new one all at 2.570”

Barrel should be lined up with the opening in the frame. Take something and put it across the opening and push the barrel in until it touches it. Have you tried your stock hammer? Also the small part of the barrel should be 2.60″ long to the bottom of the step. I put that hammer in my .25 and cycled it a few times to make sure it was good before I sent it to you. Sorry but the step in your barrel might have not been machined long enough.

checked trigger springs, thanks ok

moved barrel forward a bit, cant cock it at all

scratch my head ? 🙄

didnt think it was the hammer, was thinking the barrel was mounted a hair too far back…

He has one of my hammers and it has the angle cut on it. You know the sear only sticks up about .100″ cocked.

…hence the beauty of my LCS hammer… 😀

A lot has to do with hammer geometry. This can effect the trigger pull quite significantky. An angle that follows the sear chamfer is best in my experience!

seems a bit much. i have mine set slightly back to close the breech gap a bit, but too far and the shoulder where the barrel widens will stop the breech. try loosening the barrel grub screws, and see if the barrel shifts slightly forward, and if the gun cocks. if not, hey, thats deductive reasoning…

using the slide part on my micrometer from the rear it is 6.8mm….16mm o/d lothar 20i nch .25 barrel

ohhh…wait

bottom line is that for some reason the sear isnt being pushed up by its spring far enough to engage the intermediate.

its happened to me, but i forget what did it. perhaps try putting the spring further forward in the slot dave mentioned.

anyone else?

new barrel?

you may have the bushes set too far forward.

how far does the breech stick out at full forward breech position?
