Trigger improvement tip for GRT3 trigger for Gamo, etc.

This is an improvement to the gold colored GRT3 trigger insert for the Gamo/Theoben triggers.

While this trigger is already a vast improvement over the original trigger that is in the Gamo/Theoben type triggers, it still has a bit of rough drag you can feel during the 1st stage.

I managed to eliminate that rough drag feeling on mine by grinding the tip of the rear screw smooth. The original screw has a rough, uneven tip and the edges catch on the internal mechanism. Grinding it smooth gives a much cleaner feeling and you still get the 2nd stage “bump” just before the trigger releases.

FYI – There is a new trigger insert called the GTX2 or GTX-2 being introduced that already has this improvement built into it and it will be available at Airguns of Arizona shortly per talk on the “Yellow” forum. I don’t know the price but it is being introduced by the original designer of the GTR in it’s first release. I don’t know of any other performance improvements of the GTX-2 over the GTR-3 other than the screw tip on the GTX-2 will already have been ground smooth.

Discussion about this new trigger inspired me to make the improvement on mine, since I already own a GTR-3. Otherwise, I would be in the market for the GTX-2 as the orignal Gamo trigger leaves a lot to be deisired.
