Trigger Safety Pin

This weekend while down at my daughters, her husband Justin and I were doing some shooting with the Vulcan. We made several shots over 90 yards on some starlings and such. I happened to look down at the window sill and noticed a small roll pin of sort. After looking the Vulcan over I realized it was the safety pin that hangs down in the trigger guard to move the safety back and forth. Today when I reinserted the pin I had to tap it into place with a small brass mallet, I also added a little blue Loctite to help hold it in place. I made the mistake of turning my Vulcan over and the spring and detent ball dropped out!!! :suprisedn: :suprisedn: :suprisedn:

After crawling around for a few minutes I found the spring but no detent ball. What to do, what to do. After a few minutes of thinking I came up with an idea. What about using shot? I went up to my reloading room and in my shot drawer I had # 7, # 6 and # 5 shot. # 5 it is!!! Fits perfect and this was hard chilled shot to boot. Installed it in my Vulcan and everything works as it did before I lost the detent ball.

If any one has lost this detent ball let me know, and I’ll send you some replacements free of charge!!
