Q:

Trigger squeak

I just got my new Talon SS and the trigger has an irritating metal to metal squeak. I called Airforce and their and their answer was to send it back to them and they would fix it. I’ve read that the trigger group is very picky about how it is lubricated. My question is: Has anyone lubed their triggers, what kind of lube did you use and does anyone have pictures or drawings of the trigger group assembly?

DaveT, I sent you a PM

I’ve gone through about three tins, so it may need to go back.
When you are shooting out to 100 yds., what pellets are you using?

I did not really pay attention to how long it took, but I think one day of shooting. I shoot alot when I do so that would be 500-600 pellets. I would say shoot a tin through it and if its not better send it back. Your really going to love your new gun, mine is extremely accurate. I shoot mine out to 100yrds, even with the 12″ barrel. I would suggest a chronograph if you dont have one already, it is important to know what these guns are doing velocity wise. There is a point on your power wheel where you don’t gain any more energy and just waste more air, on my gun its about 9 with the 12″ barrel. Add a longer barrel and more things change. Its amazing how much you can do with these rifles. Happy shooting.

That’s good to know. The squeak is not outrageously loud, just annoying. I’m used to really smooth, match grade triggers on my “go bang” guns. About how many rounds did it take to break your guns in? I’ll just wait awhile to see if it smooths out. Plus it’s just a great excuse to shoot more. “..But Honey,I have to shoot more,to make sure the new gun is not defective…”

Both the Talon SS I got and the Condor SS my stepdad got had a little trigger squeek when new. Both went away with use. This was a slight squeek, not very loud, but noticeable. If your guns noise is loud I’d send it back, better to wait a little longer than have a gun with something wrong with it.
Perhaps others have noticed what I did with mine and will chime in.
