Q:

Trouble with UTG/Leapers 4-16×44 SWAT scope????

Anyone else having issues getting a clean sight picture with this model? I have it mounted on a Talon SS, and it’s extremely picky about eye positioning. I’m wondering if there is something wrong with it, or if this scope is just that particular. Hoping when my Wokbutt arrives it will improve the cheek weld positioning and make this a little less problematic. Thanks in advance for any assistance!

I have been using the Tasco 2.5-10X42 Varmint scope that was selling for $54 shipped from Opticssale.com. I have several and they do pretty well for my uses. Good luck!

But I’m pretty sure that Leapers is an American company and that most of their stuff is manufactured in Michigan. No idea where they are sourcing their glass though.

Maw my friend, You’ll never go back! 😉 😀

I have alot of cheapos the centerpoints ar probably the best, 4x16x44, I believe, the Simmons works good, my 3x12x40 Leapers cystal clear, I have orderred a few Ncstars and you need to check them out right away, cause they do sell some junk ones and I also have a Barska take it to the upper ranges it gets very dull looking. I have a Nikon on back order, we will see what that is like.

One thing I learned about chinese cheapos is don’t turn the ocular out, cause the gun shifts the cheap lense and the pellets go in a different spots.

The problem isn’t the AF platform, its the Chinese Optics. You can’t get much worse.

I’m glad its not just me. I thought I was going nuts. I have a Wokbutt on order from Adam. Hoping that helps. Anyone know if the full stocks from Maddog will solve the problem?

I’ve got the 8-32 x56 and have had the same problem to some extent with my condor. I think it’s the crappy ergonomics of AF line, I’d like to get a Etac or Tony’s tank adapter for some improvement.

The one I had a few years ago was the same way.

I bought if for the illuminated reticle, but had a hell of a time even seeing the crosshairs at night.

Shooting in the daytime, once in a while all I could see was black. Move head further away from eyepiece and suddenly I could see again.

Seems to be a very picky scope for eye relief.
