Troubleshooting the FX Impact

I suppose I should share it here as well, this is a guide to troubleshoot the fx impact. It helped me a ton to sort my issues out, I hope it may help others.

Yup i have some AA on hand, I tested out Kings, AA, MKI, MKII, and some Polymags 5 shots each, valve set on 4 and power wheel on Max, 5, 4, and 3, MKI’s came out on top with wheel on 3 and 5. Both .5 inch group at 50 yards and the AA came in second with the wheel set 2 got at .6 inch group because of 1 flyer maybe, So was going to run some more test, tomorrow but I fucking broke the pellet probe set screw.

If your ST likes something better than JSB or AA I will be shocked. Do you have any AA? When I measured 22 and 177’s the AA head size is always a drop smaller than the JSB. Good luck I hope it works out.
Ok got my gun back an assembled tonight and will do some shooting tomorrow if the weather is good or will just chrony if it’s not. Also heard that the spiraling could of been cause by a loose pellet probe pusher. So I tightened that up as well because it did wobble with the handle all the way back and I heard it should be solid. AOA just polished the barrel and sent it back. Also can except that my gun may just not like JSB pellets……I know blasphemy. Will test and video through out the week hopefully.
825 FPS is far from too hot from what I’ve been told and that’s maxed out.
Reduce the speed .. you might be shooting too hot for pellets.
Damn Ginuwine, I hope they get it straighten out for you. It has been crazy windy here (tornado) so haven’t been doing much shooting. I haven’t had any issues with leaks or anything else that I can tell. I’ve only been able to shoot out to 30 yds and at that distance it is hole in one. Will have to take it out to 50 yds once the weather gets nicer. I have to say though with the power set to 700 fps just like my Mutant. The mutant sounds to be a lot more quiet hammer slap wise. That has been my only con so far since I was expecting it to be less than the mutant’s because the action is located in the middle of the gun rather than in the rear.
OK guys, just looking for a place to vent. I picked up a Impact .25 cal New years eve and had some clipping issues and accuracy with the shroud or end cap less than an hour after I had set it up. So I sent it back to AOA and the replaced the stackable shroud which was causing issues with clipping and sound, but didn’t fix the accuracy issues at 50-75 yards. I recorded it and talk to AOA and told them it was spiraling which was the reason for the poor grouping. I was told, that I shouldn’t worry about what the camera shows because all pellets with spiral or corkscrew in flight its normal. It gets better i told him that I’ve seen pellets shoot straight and some of the guys on the forum said that it could be the barrel, maybe it needs to be lapped or polish or even replaced. I was told i really shouldn’t listen to the guys on the forum, some are pretty smart but most don’t know much about airguns. I was pissed, but don’t want to get on his bad side because i still want my shit fixed. So sending it back in to be polished. I know once i get the bugs worked out this gun will be great. As for the customer support at AOA, it maybe the last time i do business there.
Don’t forget Mike, it doesn’t have that sweet Cz barrel you love so much, just a smoothbore pipe with a bit of pressed on rifling at the end 😉
I can say that this is the best gun I ever owned.
I owned a FX Royale 400, AA S410, S510, cricket in .22 and a Boss.
This one has it all. Waiting for my chrony to come in from china to dail her in perfectly.
I don’t get that people keep having problems, maybe they fiddle too much with all the knobs and blow orings in the process.
The Impact is like a sports car, you need to tend to it properly and then she’ll perform.
Haha,… cheesy but hey : with great power (adjust-ability) comes great responsibility :p

I am watching how you like your FX, I know Ted has a good one , I have seen a lot of people just sending the gun back for a refund with one problem after another,
I hope your gun is a good one I am watching to see, I like every thing about the gun except all the problems people are having with them
but then again it is the most complex PCP built,
Just keep us posted on how your gun is doing , Down the line I might get one when the problems are all worked out.

Trust me I’ve been there so many times while testing out my LDCs. Then when it is super quiet I am like wooo hooo then realized that I had reduce the power earlier. Glad it is back in your hands though. Good luck!
Hey D, just got my impact back for AOA they replaced the stackable shroud and end cap. It is quieter. Shit, I cleaned it, loaded it up and shot a couple of test shots and thought it was broken, I didn’t hear shit, quieter than mouse fart quiet, but I saw the pellets down at the 50 all dropping low even on Max power so i was getting pissed. Then i figure it out, my valve spring was set to minimum shooting Kings at 500 FPS will be quiet. Bumped it back up to 4 and it was louder but again better than before. It was really windy today, and my groups where shitty, so I’m hoping for a better day this weekend to run some test with Kings, Mk1’s and Mk2’s and different power setting. At max and 4 my MK1’s only hit 850 FPS with my current regulator setting but will see. How is yours coming along?

Well got my impact all back together after AOA polished the barrel, (new set screw installed) and think i put over 260 rounds thru it in the last 48 hours doing pellet testing and came up with MK1’s Valve spring set to 4 and Power wheel on B, with the regulator set at AOA supposedly @ 143 bar. Ten shots at 50 yards all measurements in inches, the -1 or -2 is what the group would of been without a bad shot / flyer. The target is just an 8×11 sheet of paper, the circles are about 7 or 8 mm.
On Vacation all next week HELL YEAH.
