I am only debating the definition. I don’t like it. This is socialism … an economic and political theory advocating public or common ownership and cooperative management of the means of production and allocation of resources.
Yes – it is statism and I disagree with it and I would much rather control the funds myself like a 401k with matching rather than the government squandering it. It still doesn’t match the technical definition of socialism.
That said I contributed 6.2% of each paycheck to it and maxed it out every year for the last 25 years and would gladly take that plus interest back as lump sum with my employers match. 😉
