Trying to get my tt .25 talon shooting tight groups again.
I have a full blown .25 and it shot great than I turned up everything so Id get more energy but it seemed to actually loose velocity and the groups suck now. I tried turning it back down but have yet to find the sweet spot. Any advice to speed up the process? Does anyone know who to buy .25 kodiaks from? Thanks

Good question dude… Did you turn up the power wheel only, or did you adjust the top hat on the valve, maybe both or just what???
Then might include what pellets you are using, and what fill pressure you start with…
Coarse, there is always the usual things a guy should check quite often, the set screws that hold the barrel to the frame, and that your not using a really dirty barrel as well… You know what kind of fps these pellets are going???
You have a shroud? If so, its not clipping the pellets as they excite the barrel are they??? Another thing to watch for really close is the screw that we use to hold the forearm on the fifle frame with… You want to be sure not to have this screw in the hole moving the forearm closer to the trigger guard, and even ramping the forearm at somewhat an angle from the trigger guard to the frame of the rifle…
When I first received my gun it grouped great but would have an occasional flier. So I kept on turning it up since I was hunting foxes n coyotes so I didn’t need the best accuracy plus the extra energy would help. I was shooting enjun pellets the heavy ones. The accuracy pretty much stayed the same. All the time I kept the gun at 2800. I eventually found it it was hitting the shroud but not all the time just like once every 10 or so shots. I personally thought it was just me pulling the shots made sure everything was tight. Than the end cap blew off eventually. I haven’t taken the shroud off and tested it but that’s gonna be my next task. Than see what happens. I just ordered jsb pellets to see if they make a difference. What levels should I start at any advice? By the way I appreciate the advice.

I had love hate and hell with mine like that for the longest time, before I ever seen what was causing the trouble also… Lots of questions here, but they will help us all to help you get the rifle shooting well again…
what did you adjust on it when you ‘turned it up’ ?

Well, JIMO dude; if the pellets are clipping the shroud or even just skimming through the shroud, your pretty much done till you resolve that issue all together…
Make sure all the screws that hold the barrel to the frame by way of the barrel bushings are good and snugged up as well. You do need to get rid of the shroud and check things without it for now…
Then I would make sure of the pellets, I have never been a big fan of the pointed pellets, with the exception of the Predators, which shoot great in my Condor, but are a total waste of money in my Rapid MKII… Bottom line make sure to try several different pellet brands, as well as styles…
The JSB’s in the 15.8 and the 18.1 sizes both shoot very well in both of these pellet rifles of mine. Not sure on the JSB 25.4 gr. Monster from either rifle… So get the shroud off, look and wait for a good calm day and try several pellets out after running over the set screws and a good cleaning…
The other thing, that has give probably ever single one of us with these rifles hell at one time or other, the freakin’ TopHat working loose from the stem as you work the breech back and forth as you cock the rifle and push in pellets… So grap the tophat and see if you can roll it loose on the stem. If so, just don’t over tighten the set screws for the tophat, but you will really need to make sure this gets snugged up and better yet to loctite the tophat to the stem…
If the tophat is loose and changing the measurement to the valve seat on the tank valve, you accuracy goes out the window, least mine will… Next make sure the breech and/or hammer is not running dry… Use something like graphite to lube this with and only the graphite… Puking the stuff all over the hammer/breech really wakes one of these rifles up also, if/when they are being fired dry…
