Trying to quiet the SS without adding alot of length ??????
I remember seeing some one making inserts to install on the talon ss chamber. I emailed but haven’t gotten a response. Which design works better? The insert or the frame extenders? Who makes the best and the quietest without adding to much length? ❓

I have both the subssonic insert and the gtby short shroud. Both work really well. Both guys are great to deal with, and make some nice stuff. You’ll be happy with either, or both.
I tried to search the 2 you named. Do you have their contact info or do they have a web site? So there is no difference in loudness between the two?
I’ve owned moderators from both, and both met my demand for “Dead Silent”. And I mean absolute quiet…
Both these guys make shorter moderators, just be sure you can live with a moderate decrease in sound if you go shorter.
One thing that will definitely help is to “vent” your shroud by drilling your front barrel bushing, and drilling 3 to 4 small vent holes at the bottom of the shroud, between the front and back barrel bushings. It vents into the forearm, and is good a muffling the release. Don’t make more than 3 to 4 holes and stay small, 1/16″ to 1/8″ is plenty. There are several posts on this technique. It will definitely help a short extension work better.

subssonic makes an insert that will just fill the dead space, no length change.
gtbj makes a short shroud that will add maybe 3″ or so
ive dealt with both, and both are top notch guys.
i hear gtbj just broke his lathe, tho… 👿
