Q:

TSS with CPL’s where to start?

New to this! I have a bunch of boxes of 7.9 Gr Crosmans. Whats a good powersetting? I think I need to keep it between 900 and 1000 fps to maintain decent accuracy.

Thanks, Rick

I’m located in Suffolk County New York.

Rick, you got that right on more counts than one! My friends top hat was out a good amount more than mine and his takes a full 3K charge and shoots strong from shot one. Mine…If I fill to 3K it shoots very weak till about 2500. Where are you located? I’m in the central San Joaquin valley.

No not yet, but I have access to one that I can borrow. Looks like I’ll need one of my own. An essential part of the Airforce shooters kit I take it. With factory top hat and Pw on 2.5 it’s accurate and quiet. I would like to know the velocity. The very first thing I learned is that these rifles are idiosyncratic; no two are the same even with identical spacing and Pw setting. Thanks for the response.

Welcome Rick. Do you have a chrony?

I assume you have TSS with .177 cal?

You will benefit from heavier pellets such as Kodiaks, but CPs will do.

Power setting 4-5 will be good to start with.
