TT .25 barrel take a blue?
Guess all of the TT .25 barrels are done in stainless LW. Are they blue-able?

I’m wondering the best method to remove the silicon before a finishing job?
I read somewhere that vinegar works well to remove silicon, but if the surface is raw (not anodized) it may leave undesirable blemishes.
I’ll test the theory on an inconspicuous area pre-op. Thanks.

I keep all of my guns treated with a silicon spray inside and out. Always wipe down after taking outside when raining or humid and you’ll never have problems with rusting.

Yes a barrel finished in “White” is raw metal. If you polish it and put some silicon on it you are protected pretty well.
And dont forget ” Blueing” is actually a rust finish of sorts. And what do you do to protect that? Apply silicon.
I’d been wondering about that………even stuff blued and oiled gets a haze of rust in just a few weeks down here in the south, yet not a spot on the bbl i got from Tony, If it is “in the white” and not stainless I’d sure like to know what it is treated with. had mine 6 mos now and still looks like new.
White? As in raw metal?
That’s what I wanted to know WOK. I’m aware true stainless won’t take a blue, but wasn’t sure if Tony’s barrels actually were stainless.

Those barrels are “White” and not stainless.
A gunsmith can hot blue that for you if you want.
Stainless cannot be “blued” in a traditional sense, but can be treated for a “blackened” finish. Check with a local gunsmith for refinishing options. Or GunKote is a bake on enamel available from Brownells that is super durable (I think WOK was using it for a while on the wokbutts).

the 3 bottle kit you can get at most sports stores for home bluing actually works quite will with LW airgun barrels in the white….however the have to have a perfect finish before starting to get best results…
secondly i would advise that you get some candle wax and plug the insides of the barrel with, you dont want any blueing in there
also if using that kit….its a bluing remover, degreaser, and finally bluing stuff…..your need to apply several times, follow instrucktion closely…clean with plenty of water, now i did it in the bathroom sink….and that bluing agent found its way under the ceramic stuff and started rusting the drain visible, but nothing to do do to stop it ….so i would suggest doing it outside 😉
