Q:

TTT Condor .25 + Altaros Regulator

So I spoke to Tony about three hours ago about getting the maxim shot count with my TTT Condor and .25 JSB
I put together my rig with the Altoaros Regulator and set it at 2000 Psi out put. I filled my gun to 3200 PSI and what next was shocking.

So my settings are:

TTT Condor
TT Adaptor
TT Top Hat With large insert drilled out to the max.
Power Wheel on 2.5
Altoaros Regulator set at 2000 psi out put.
3200 PSI fill on factory bottle.
And here we go. Look at this 65 shots from 864-876 fps.

How do you add pictures to this post? I will put them up of what the gun looks like with the Altaros Regulator

That’s simply amazing OP!!! I would stop at 60 shots but it still shows great data beyond!

So I took off the TTTA and my fps dropped 45fps. So to Doug’s comment you must have a large enough prechamber.

For very hard to remove valves, dump the air, heat the top of bottle all the way around, with propane torch, wait for it to cool then try to remove.

Can’t do it without the prechamber huh? I just PM you this same question so you can disregard that message.

Needs a pre chamber before the valve. I get 960 fps on 1800 psi reg setup with large chamber.

I bought an Altaros reg last year and then got deployed. I just got it going and had a chance to shoot this weekend. This is what I found-

On my Talon SS it shoots at 740 FPS with the reg set at 2000 psi (JSB Express .22 cal 14.35gr). I have a tin of sample JSB pellets and oddly enough it shot all of them right at 740 also even the monsters 25.something gr. That I can’t figure out, but I did only shoot one of each of those, so not much of a trial. I was hoping for more in the 800 FPS range so I turned the power wheel up. That had no effect until about 8 or 9, at that point the FPS actually dropped. So I turned the power back down and continued shooting. Other then a little slower then what I was hoping for I am very happy. I shot a nickle size group at 45 yards! Someone else probably could have shot even better.

Similar story on my Condor SS. I put on the reg and at 2000 psi was shooting JSB Kings .25 cal at 835 fps. I wanted more and the power wheel had no effect again until the high settings when it actually lost power. I then adjusted the reg to 2150ish and it is now shooting at 865 fps. I really wanted to be in the 930-950 range with gun, but if that requires turning the reg up to 2800 psi and only getting 5 shots before falling off the reg then its not worth it. As is I am shooting one inch groups at 54 yards. I am sure the gun is capable of better (I don’t claim to be the best marksman), because each of those groups were 4 shots in about a nickle size with one flier that stretched it to about an inch group.

Here is my question, what would be my options for getting over 900 fps on the Condor other then turning the reg up? Is it possible without turning the reg up? I am not looking for ultimate power or ultimate shot count, but would like to find the happy medium.

By the way I didn’t count, but I must have got about 40 shots from 3000 psi to 2300 psi on the Condor.

The key here is the insert for the top hat by tony combined with the higher out put from the regulator.

My first test with it was at 1800psi out put with no restrictor in the tophat. I only got 27 shots before I got off the regulated pressure. O this was 2800psi down to 1800psi. My tank was low.

I did not test the FPS because I did not care it was too low of a shot count for me.

Next I put the restrictor in and got to over 40 shots from 2800psi down to 1800psi. but I did test fps and it was at 815fps.

I then drilled out the restrictor and went up to 2000 psi out put and got my fps up to 868 range. So I did a full fill from 3200psi down to 2000psi and that is where I got the 60+shots.

I am going to now drill out the brass restrictor more to gain a higher fps but I am sure it will be a lower shot count. I will post the results tomorrow. I will have to cut a slot in the brass restrictor being that the drill bit will be just larger than the allen key.

I wish I could get my valve out of my TTTA so I could increase the spring tension on it. My tophat leaks a little out of the top of it. I also think that if I could increase that tension it would help to increase shot count. I’m thinking like the de-bounce thing like in the Marauder. Also who sells the valve removal tool? I made on here out of plastic (schedule 40 pvc) and a bolt but my bolt bent in half. LOL I thought the plastic would break first.

Also I am using the I think 95g hammer that came with my TTT condor. I think the stock would do better in shot count. (Thinking that this large one on such a low pressure output is bouncing.) I will try that soon as well.

Also as Doug stated the power wheel has no effect on the fps.

PS Doug I sent you a 53ci bottle on Monday to be re-threaded but you are right I think a shorter one will be needed. Maybe I will have you send me the 48ci as well. Where can I get the specs. on that 48ci bottle? I pm’d you on price for one as well.

Doug, I was wondering the same thing. Without a pre-chamber such as yours has, it will no doubt require quite a bit higher pressure than you are using.

Nice string.

You need to get a rethreaded 48 ci to get the LOP less. That has to be around 16″

Wonder what psi it takes to get 950’s with JSB’s.

I get 950’s on 1800 psi setup.

I have an Altros here from OldGoat, but haven’t tried it yet. Still have the Talon/Dor set up in .257.
Wonder if the Altros could be modded to work with the .257? 😀

Truly amazing!!

Those are really great numbers! I have an a Altaros waiting to be installed, are you running a heavier hummer in your condor?

finally someone with some good data on these guns. well done
