Q:

tube tank question

was thinking about a tubular tank again- like modding a FX tube to fit a talon ss valve… max output of about 40 fpe, in .25, would the tube tank be viable? or would it be too small to have a good amount of shots? i think 20-30 full power shots is fine…thoughts?

OD of the tube is 1 1/4″ near enough.

Same as the frame

Hope it helps

Dave

dave, whats the OD of that tube tank you’ve got in the pic??

BSA barrel blanks are 15.5mm / 0.610″

Dave

whats the outer dia of a BSA barrel blank? are there different ones? whats the largest?

😛 thanks guys

I will update when the adapters and other parts are made

dave you animal you

Don’t get me wrong, I can shoot with the big HPA tank, but my head is cocked to the side and it is a little irritating since I shoot a lot of smallbore powder burners too. One likes to practice like they compete, and compete like they practice….

i love this forum! bless you guys! dave, exactly what i was thinking…though id have to really sit down an measure what id like in so far as LOP… im just completely building a whole new body, just for me…too expensive to really produce for lots of people. really low scope rail (M1913 to boot!!) right side feed only, and side cock… w/that great tube tank…id like to keep it short though- wish me luck!!!

Thanks Pab,

Im breaking down my AA S410 so thought I would offer this if there is any interest.

One thing I really like about the Edge is the Tank. Lower scope height to barrel plane. I don’t need a gazillion shots, but those super high rings bug me. The ballistic arch is extreme for field range conditions. I usually try to get the objective right down on the barrel, and the zero is relatively easy to predict from 20-50yds/m etc. But a 2″+ rise changes that all to hell. the mil-dot scope helps a ton….. Does anyone make a HPA tank like the Egde for the other AF models? 💡

+2, I hate the height. I’ve got a 32mm mounted as low as I can go. My temple rests on my air tank rather than my cheek. I would love to see a smaller diameter tank or Edge tank conversion.

Are you using a Wokbutt?

I am a big guy and can comfortably rest my cheek on the Talon tank using a Wokbutt

I have an Air Arms air tube that I will be machining a new endcap and fitting on the front so a regular Airforce valve can be threaded into it.

If you are interested, then just PM me
