Tubular Magazine Add On

Thought some of you might find this interesting. I made a tubular magazine for my Matador single shot. It holds about 40 pellets and I made it with $3 in material. I
1) picked up a brass tube (9/32 for .22) at my local hardware store,
2) cut it to the desired length,
3) used a dremel tool to notch the end so that two notched sections can be slightly bent to keep the pellets from falling out
4) lightly painted it with spray bed liner
5) drilled a small hole on the loading end to put a small bent piece of paper clip in the hole to hold the pellets in
6) and secured it to the scope rail using black zip ties.

It works great. No more pulling pellets out of my pockets. I now always have plenty and very quick access.

No issues with distorted pellets. You can easily adjust the ears to get the correct fit and if adjusted properly they do not have any impact on the pellets.

do you have any problem with the ‘ears’ of the tube distorting the pellet skirt?

Exactly. I did that. I now load up and air up at the same time.

why not shorten your tube to the number of shots you get? When you run out of ammo you need to refill air too!

I thought that seeing how many shots I have left would be important. I was going to put a few dremmel cut slits in the tube near the dispensing end. But it turns out I run out of air before I run out of ammo. So I simply load up every time I add air.

I had the knob in a part box of stuff I keep handy.
I removed with heat the original bolt it had was to small and short.
Used a threaded rod cut to length and Dremel the end with slots, heat to install back onto the knob.

No, I haven’t tried the brass yet ….. the straw is still holding up fine.
Might start to look for something stronger latter, but still clear …. I like to see the shots I have left.

Greg – Thanks for the feed back. I always wondered if anyone took advantage of the degasser suggestion. Glad it worked for you. Where did you get that extra long center screw with a knob on it? Nice improvement. Did you ever make a brass magazine?

Here it is ……. half hour later.
A quicky DIY I could find for now, the main thing it’s working.
For how long …….. may need to go to brass also ?

I used a clear straw so I can see how many shots I got, holds 20+1 pellets.
I left 2 rings on the accordion to hold the output with a O-ring as a tourniquet added tension.
Cut a shallow groove into the infeed end for the another O-ring to hold them all in.
Each pellet pushish the proceeded in and only the last one (pellet 21) is stuck on the inlet O-ring till the next refill.
Stuck it on using industrial 2 way tape …. like a forwards mount on the left side because I load my Lelya pointing slightly muzzle downward. ….. I usually left hand cock and load all my pups.

Thanks Strietwise you always put out good stuff ! :8:

I’d also like to thank Strietwise again for the clever DIY Edgun degasser/reg puller he posted wayback.
It works like a charm and cost only a few bucks to make ! :8:

~ Thanks, Greg

Hea, I like that Strietwise ! :8:

Maybe I can make one for my Lelya 20 cal, it shoots only 20 shots on a fill.

Thanks for the posting …….
