Tuned Talon is it worth it?
I am finally thinking of sending my gun to be tuned. What can I expect in ways of enhanced performance?
Should I just do it myself? I am mechanically inclined.
I just am weighing my options.

Looks like somethings I can do my self. But I think I might have Talon Tunes do my valve and maybe the trigger.

I would send it to Tony. But that’s me. You have to ask yourself how comfortable and confident you are in your abilities. Tonys work is worth the $ and wait.
Just how good are you at mechanical work? How patient are you when it comes to getting the right tool for the job? Do you understand what you are doing or are you just following what might be incomplete instructions? Not to piss in anyone’s Wheaties but plenty of guns seem to have “mystery” problems that trace back (eventually) to poor workmanship in mods or assembly.
If you’re not positive….send it to Tony with a list of desires and a check. You’ll be happy!
I say do it your self as long as your confident in your own abilities ….that said most of the mods that are done in a “tune” are easy to do with the rite tools..about to only mod that really needs specialized equipment is the o-ring mod that any machine shop would be more than happy to cut the groove in the valve guide for you… And like s.s.s. Said all the needed info is here on this site and all of us are willing to help where we can..
Using information available in this forum,you can do a lot of tuning yourself. The real question is do you really want to ? If your pretty handy and more importantly really enjoy tinkering then go for it ! I have done a lot of polishing, made a brass hammer, did the trigger mod, (easy to do & improves accurcy greatly ) ,barrel bushing vent, frame vent,wodden benchrest style forearm, and afew other things. However, when it came to the valve I sent that off to Tony for an o-ring mod & porting & polishing. I can tell you he does great work ! So go with what your comfortable with .
