Q:

Tuning my .22 Cricket with the 2 piece speed adjuster

  • I bought a new black and brass 2 piece speed adjuster.
My cricket (.22 Composite Stock) is still at factory settings, except for the speed adjuster.
I have several hundred pellets thru the barrel. JSB 18.1

I have a couple of questions about tuning.

    1. Which adjuster is best for HST tuning? Black portion or brass portion?
What is the difference between to two of them?
    2. When shooting accross a chrony, how long do I need to wait between shots?
I believe the regulator has to have time to recover.
    3. What ES is acceptable?
    4. What shot to shot fps spread is acceptable?
    5. Should I fill to 232 bar every time, or, should I use something different?

Thank you, TerrySS

But of course i am. What kinda friend was i if i didn´t help a fellow who shares my fetish for GFFA ? Not very good one, no.

You are indeed a man of refined tastes, and a friend among friends!

Kindest regards,

Uncle Hoot:

Good to know the USPS can be trusted as a carrier of such rare and valuable items once again. I´ve had few incidents with those Clowns in the past : I send some Sako parts to a friend who lives in Colorado. That package disappeared. I send him a new package , this time trackable (crazy expensive) and after three weeks waiting he finally tracked the box to Costa Rica. After half dozen phone calls and seven more days waiting it finally arrived. I also send a package to Coda. God knows where that one is right now … 👿
And , once again : Congrats for your Birthday. I hope those GFFA (Genuine Finnish Fish Assholes) came in handy. Enjoy ! :fishinghole:
I´ll PM you instructions to a Finnish drinking game in which those assholes are used as incentives. This is all too civilized Forum to publish such rules and regs on.

I believe the .25 cal OEM spring is stronger/longer than its .22 cal counterpart. I could be wrong though … 😕

Putin was hand picked by those old Russian Olygarg´s once upon a time. He´s old school Russian dictator-wanna-be.

Speaking of Olygarg’s…a native Finnish fresh water fish whose ‘bung-hole’ is over 50% of it’s body mass, I received your present for my birthday…late but in good shape. Thanks again!!!

I believe humankind is greasing the skids on the tracks to hell rather nicely without any help from us!

That idiot Putin is so stupid he thinks the whole world believes the horseshit he belches each time he opens his ignorant mouth. He could easily start a nuclear war with his land grabbing tactics. Hitler used the same excuse when he started annexing surrounding sovereign states…” That land is ours because most of the population there is German!” Everyone knows how well that worked out!

Meanwhile, I need to find a proper hammer spring for my Cricket! Not easy finding one just a bit stronger than the OEM. Toad Suck is not the best place to find a wide selection of springs!

Hoot:

Yep! That’s EXACTLY what the World needs. Several Ville’s strutting around. Three or four more of me and the gathered Human intelligence will tumble down several notches.
Add one Arkan-insanian into the mix and the Human kind is doomed.

I hope all my children grow up to be just like you, Sir Vile…just as soon as they get out of prison.

With only the greatest respect….

Humbly, Uncle Hoot:

Now we hear form the Head Of The Feckless Band Of Rat Pricks. Where oh Where have you been Coach? Has Doctor Evil had you bound and gauged in his laboratory again? By the way anything to add to Terry’s question about HST adjustments, I think you have the adjuster he has described?

Been there and done that. Since the King of Sweden (that illiterate prick) dubbed me “Sir” i have lots of obligations like judging Women Beach Volley competitions and Miss Wet T-shirt events. I’ll try to hang on the Net a bit more often now. I’m tired of those half- naked Girls anyway. Enough is enough – a Sir or not.

quote Hoot:

Sir Vile…where ya been lately?

The Evil Doctor PM’d me yesterday and mentioned your wife screamed “Get off me Rat Breath!!!” When you were attempting to slide the “Finnish Viper” into one of her orifices the other night!

He said you angrily replied “Oh Yeah!!! How many rats have you fucked lately?

Then she replied “including the one’s that didn’t pay?”

Now…is this really true, or was the Evil Doctor just pulling my crank?

Painfully, but With kindest regards…

Saintly ‘Old Uncle Hoot:

Sadly, all true. The evil Doc , on the other hand , is mostly pulling only his Pecker. I told him it doesn’t get any longer by doing that but does the Mad Man ever listen … 🙁

Adjust the reg to get far more even velocity shot/shot. Your reg is set all too high for 700ish.

I got to spend some quality time with the .22 Cricket yesterday. The reg is set at factory, the trigger is set at factory. I’m shooting JSB 18.1 Exact Heavies. This is what I found. If the outer piece of the HST(black piece) is screwed all the way in, and the inner brass piece is screwed in 1 7/8 turns, you get 700 fps. This will be good enough for Field Target. If you continue to turn the brass adjuster in for a total of 4 turns, I ended up with 880 fps.
Your results may vary.

quote LarryW22:

Hi Terry, first of all, what He ( :hoot: ) said!! I believe the inventor of the HST you described is a member of the forum, perhaps a Finn, or Dane or Swede, I get them confused which I blame Sir Ville for. The adjuster looks to be made very well, just a little more complicated than the one Ernest the Cricket Guru sells.
