Q:

Updated Compatto, rugged lil semi-bullpup

Back in February 2016 I was lucky enough to do a review of the Brocock Compatto semi-bullpup PCP rifle. It was an honest review, and in my conclusion I stated that despite its faults, I really liked the rifle.

Fast forward to late Summer 2016, and to my surprise I am contacted by Brocock. They had updated the Compatto, were aware of my review and asked if I would be interested in reviewing the updated version of the Brocock Compatto.

The changes have been pretty amazing:

Effective shot count is up 50%, they’ve improved the power adjuster and they’ve added the slingshot hammer system to the FAC version.

It was just the confusion that “semi” would stand for semi-auto rather than semi-bullpup

I’m seriously considering getting one of these from Jim at Precision Airguns & Supplies. Any owners who care to chime in?

I don’t understand the controversy over the “semi-bullpup” nomenclature as technically it is one as the action and breech are behind the trigger group.

Yeh I agree too..

Why not call it what it is … A Carbine.

Agreed

Cricket , thanks for pointing that out for me , any time I see semi in regards to a gun I always think they are meaning that
the gun is semi-auto , my mistake . However , they should have said what the gun really is and that it is a Carbine Rifle
and should not have used the term semi at all in their description of the gun stock .

This gun is not a real Bullpup nor is it a real semi-auto air gun . For me it is plain garbage and should not have been labeled
as the type of air gun that it was described as . Looks like they miss-labeled this product so that they could make a lot of
money off of it by saying it was a semi-auto gun .

Bird, they are not saying it is a semi auto. They are saying it is a semi-bullpup. Half bullpup half rifle…

What is the serial # on the updated gun?

why do they call this a semi-auto.

it’s not a semi-auto, u have too work the bolt.
it’s too long, might as well be a carbine.

No one called it a semi-auto. It’s a semi bullpup in that the action is only behind the trigger by a few inches as opposed to being all the way in the rear of the stock as most traditional bullpups are.
