Q:

Updates to the newest batch of Crickets

I received a brand new Cricket .25 WB destined to my friend and it´s of the newest batch, made March 19. 2014. There´s a new, wide clamp scope bridge and the new WB stock (similar to the not yet released .35 stock) has two stock screws too. I took a couple of pics of the new scope bridge and you can see it´s wider and has two extra clamping screws beneath the airtube. All this should aid in more rigid barrel mount where the airtube and it´s pressure doesn´t have as much effect on the POI.
Now the whole Weaver-rail is also detacheable.

I´ll take some pics tomorrow so you can see how it looks complete with the new stock. Definitely an update.

How would one go about purchasing the “bridge” as I haven’t found anything with an online search?

Give it a month or so since these are brand spanking new parts. If you must have one right now i can check with my Cricket dealer though.
You should be able to order any Cricket part thru your dealer wherever in the World you may dwell so even WWAG can get one for you. Don’t know if those are listed as spares as of yet them being a new part only found on the newest batch of .25’s as for now.

Coda, You need this NC shroud a lot quieter. mine set at 860fps 10.3g got another 20 tin of 10.3g I buy when its 10% off and free shipping, even though I have 40+ tin in stock.

its another 2 months till the shipment of the hummingbird, barrel shortage! 😳

Ernest, do you recommend this shroud for a 22 cal too?
My 22 is already quite out of the box. As quite as my talon SS shooting half the power. Can it go much lower?

Awny

Highly recommend this setup for a .22:

Don’t wait. There is ALWAYS something new in the pipeline so one would never buy and enjoy anything except the waiting. The H-Bird has been delayed once again so I wouldn’t wait on it.

I wonder if the currently $300 reduced price crickets in US include this improved model?
I been debating getting a 25 or 177 but the Hbird and the Vulcan put me on the waiting mode to see what’s coming next. This is a new development.

Hi Ernest,

if there was some kind of beauty contest, for my personal taste, I would vote for your Baby Cricket as the “Bullpup of the Year”. 😀

What a nice package! For me the ultimate bullpup.

That’s cool, the upgrades look good. My .25 was manufactured december 2013 and has the new “stepped” foregrip stock with the two screws but no new clamp system 😥 . I wonder if at one point we will be able to send our actions in to our dealers for them to install the new clamp system, or simply purchase it separately and install it ourselves, wishful thinking I know .

Don’t despare, young Man! You can buy the Bridge separately if you want. Any part for that matter. But in order to get some use out of the second stock screw you need one of those new stocks as well – although you can use the old stock too but that leaves the second screw out of the equation.
These are not EdGuns meaning parts can be bought – not just empty promises of “soon to be available” kind.

I am buying all of the toys before I retire in a few months (but my wife still works 🙂 ). That NC is on the list when I work the courage up. Did you do anything else to quiet it like the ping? Even though my neighbors are far and don’t care I would still like to be completely stealthy sometimes (depending on what and where I am shooting).

I only have 30 tins of the 10.3s at the moment but and I have about 3750 (3 boxes of the select) Crosman Premiers 10.5 that are pretty good too.

I hit my farthest bird at 87 yards (lasered with the Leupold) with the Baby Cricket from a rest today. It was near dead calm and the sun was glaring on him so all I saw was the puff of feathers through the woods in back and the fall. 😆 Lucky shot and that SR Pro reticle.

I figured those H-birds would get delayed for one reason or another…

It really wallops the raccoons. It’s a bit too destructive on a squirrel so a head shot is needed to minimize the damage if you eat them and I bet a cottontail is the same. It’s like a .223 on P’Dogs on sparrows. They just come apart. 😯
