Q:

valve and bottle pressure

tapping into your wealth of knowledge again ……I made a new valve for my stealth / condor 24″ barrel heavy hammer etc… I made it like an old condor valve ….Parallel tube not tapered like the new ones…. the top hat tube is 7mm OD and is one piece. the delrin seal is about 10mm OD …..at 3000psi its not that powerful…..i don’t have a chronograph but it dents a wok lid……however as the PSI reduces the power goes up through the roof….or at least straight through the wok lid……I think what is happening is that the hammer is struggling to open the valve against the pressure in the bottle….is this why the valve shape changed….?

any thoughts on this would be appreciated thanks in advance

Just try it on low air and chrony it.

How many lbs is the hammer spring? I can open 3500 psi and maybe even higher.

You need to make your seal around .330″

The hole is 7.1mm the seal is about 10mm so about twice what you reckon…. Your .03″ is about .75mm the Delrin seal does have a flat face.. I have an upgraded spring and a 100g hammer…. How did you measure hammer force ? Even at about 2000psi it still punches a 35grain slug through 0.7mm stainless sheet…. Got take it out and shoot with it and look at accuracy issues and buy a chrony too

Hehehe

Let me get this straight…you shot Wok’s ‘lid’???

Twice!!!!

How big is the hole where the seal is? Your seal is larger than my .308 valve seal. It has a .320″ hole with a .375″ seal. It takes a 13lb hammer spring to open it also. Seal only needs to be .025″-.030″ larger then your hole and make it flat not coned.
