Me thinks he has no idea what kind of valve we are removing.
Too bad he shamed my favorite rifle cartridge.

Like you’re the right tool for spamming???? 😆
Yeah, that FIRST time getting it off I had my entire work bench/vise shaking from the blows of my hammer. AF really torques those valve assemblies down 😡
Yeah and some chemical stuff in there too! I used a long pipe to give me some extension and that worked pretty good for me.

Yeah MM’s tool rocks! After the first time getting it off I squeeze the bottle between my legs and tight the valve. No vice needed!!! The pressure will keep in place.
this is how i made one…you can use the big long handle with stud/pin on end or insert a stud and use a wrench on the hex…
the handle is a 16″ bolt with the head machined off and shaped into the “stud/pin” and i simply knurled the threaded portion to give it a good grip
the nut is a huge nut i got from a salvage yard for 25 cents and simply bored the threads out to fit the collar of the valve…

Hey all,
Tagdagger certainly had my blessing to begin producing his own. I only started making them when people came to me and said MetalHead was out and not going to have any anytime soon. It is a lot more work than the $10 price tag considering the bolts alone are about $3 each. I basically considered them a service to the community as Tagdagger mentioned.
I do still make them if you are interested. The $10 price is when I can ship them with an E-TaC, they are $15 to cover the $5 USPS priority shipping is sent all by itself.

Jim
The one I make is the same one Metal head and Jim does. Jim did a few up for me and then I started makeing them myself. I just made 10 last week and Im here to tell you there is way more than 10.00 worth of work there.
Its one of those things you have to make and offer when your doing something that requires people to remove the valve housing like the E-Tac regs or the Airarcher.
Tag,
damn! i need me one of those… 😀
The one Tagdagger gives with his Air Archer kit is the best Ive seen.
If you are really tight on $ go on the internet look up Dodge collar or axle spacer ( I think 1 1/4″ I.D.) an grade 8 bolt (think 3/8″ or what ever the collar set screw is) machine or grind down the tip .
“Or you can use a pipe wrench and really fuck it up, there are legions of shade tree mechanics on this forum who have done just that”
😳 😳 😳
been there done that !
I likey those bits on the top pics, look simple enough to make (should the need ever arrive again .. 😈 )
JJ..
x2 on MM’s valve wrench. It has proven to be invaluable! Best 10.00 bucks you’ll spend 😉
Well guys, I have used spanner wrenches, but this wrench Jim makes is made for this specific purpose and it works very well for $10.00, and your dealing with one of the finest guys out there.
I have changed my valve out perhaps 30 times or more, it has gotten to be old hat with me. I also don’t put that valve back on as tight as AF does, there is no reason to do so.
On the really tight ones, I have to take a open end wrench, and put the enclosed end on the head of the bolt for leverage.
Now if you have a die wrench, which is the wrench that holds a threading die and it will slip over that valve collar, you can use that too.
Or you can use a pipe wrench and really fuck it up, there are legions of shade tree mechanics on this forum who have done just that.
But if you do not have any of those things, do yourself a favor and buy one like I showed you.
I gave 10 bucks for mine, but I would not sell it for a 100 bucks.
