Valves!
I got my hands on a “used”(but looks like new) .177 Talon that looks to have very little use on it for the Grand Total of $200! :8: :4:
Tank was out of Hydro so I figured it needed it.
I watched PanD’s video on the TTTA, and figured that don’t look to hard. The valve on mine was glued to last through to the end of time!
Some heat & a improvised valve wrench later and out came the valve.

Since I had the 2007 tank rehydro’d & it was apart I figured to clean up/polish all the valves bits.

Before Polishing

After Polishing, the o~ring sits past the left over groove, I didn’t want to chance removing too much material.

The valve body ring’s finish was marred up so it got polished too.

So now that it’s time to put it back together I have a question for the long time builders, the lower valve spring retainer was slobbered in Loc-tite.
So I assume it needs some locking compound on it when I put it back together?
Lately I have been using Vibra~tite VC3 & have been happy with it’s performance, once dry it should be stable, what’s your opinion on using it on the lower retainer?
Once dry it leaves a blob of retaining compound on the part, it’s what I use an all the grub screws.
