Venting the Shroud on a new Talon SS
Are those vent holes between the breech and the rear barrel bushing? How does the air get past the rear barrel bushing with the o-ring around it on the new guns? Do you ventilate the rear barrel bushing as well? or just make the holes in front of the rear bushing?

Thank you Knife. Front bushing is already vented, sounds like holes in bottom of the frame, any location fore/aft between the front and second barrel bushings is fine, no biasing it toward front or second bushing.
Has anyone tried packing that space with an open cell foam or scotch-Brite scrubby pad material to also dampen air movement in that space after venting? Or is that sort “packing” a waste/non functional for reducing report?
Place them in the rail under the frame, between the first and second bbl. bushings. You have to vent the front bbl. bushing as well for this to work. 😉

Asked in another thread, this is regarding a brand new Talon-P, is there a preferred station point/distance from end of frame to place these holes?

Picture a line of 4 to 6 vent holes in the shroud, under the forearm which muffles the venting. Don’t make them too large.
Do not vent the rear bushing….only the front one
Ventilate after the front bushing and before the rear bushing.

When I still used the factory fore arm, I packed it with a form of white, very fine scotch bright pad. Worked well! 😉
