Main differences/upgrades I am aware of between Mutant and Veteran:

*Slightly larger air tube
*New regulator design
*larger port volume created by having 2 port holes come up from valve
*anti double load feature – works great!
*magazine size slightly larger in pellet length
*20 MOA rail so no need for adjustable scope mounts unless shooting extreme ranges

wow… built-in 20 MOA picatinny rail? that is a wonderful feature to have.

thanks.

The only difference is thicker hammer spring and higher setting on the regulator for the .25

The ports are the same until it hits the bushing that is the caliber diameter. Then naturally each bushing port is opened up as much as possible for that caliber. Regulated air pressure reservoir is also the same.

I asked this question earlier and no answers so a friend of mine bought both guns and tore them down to find out.

I wonder if your friend who is lucky enough to have both the 22 and 25 can tell us a review of both…

What is the difference between a Mutant and a Veteran?

You are right there Mike!! An excellent friend 🙂

I am hoping to make the .25 Veteran into a .30 cal with an FX barrel. I have owned a Bobcat and a Impact in .30 and they are so consistently accurate for long range. I just would rather have the Taipan build quality, trigger, etc. We are thinking it should have similar power to my current FX guns.
