Visiting the forum after a long while
It’s been quite some time since I’ve checked out this forum. I’ve recently sold my Condor. I’m missing it right now. I noticed, though, that Airforce has some new products. I’m not going to get into them, however, I’m looking into getting a newer Talon in the future with the new Spinlock system which also includes a built-in air gauge. Does anybody have one yet? How is it?
Anyway, I know that this is an AF forum, but here are some photos of my shooting sessions with my Air Arms rifles: TX200 MK3 and S410 Xtra. Both are in .22 caliber. All shooting sessions were done unbenched with me sitting with my back leaning against a wall. The rifles’ forestock were rested on the palm of my hand which in turn was rested on my knee. The plinking sessions were done in the morning, all the while enjoying my morning cup of joe. 😀

Now, here’s pellet stackin’ with my TX200’s big sister, the S410 Xtra. The shooting position is the same as it was with the TX200 as well as the distance (30 yards). Once again, a .22 caliber hollow point pellet has been placed on the side of the hole for reference.
Here’s my best 10-shot group at 20 yards with my TX200. My shooting position was seated with the gun rested on my palm which in turn is resting on my knee.

IT IS NOTORIOUS FOR THE NEGATIVE EFFECT IT HAS ON THOSE WHO FALL VICTIM TO IT. Here’s another 10-shot stack of pellets that has been retrieved from the wood (shot at 30 yards):
None that I’m aware of. The S510 comes in a “Superlite” version (mine) and is very light weight. I think a lot of that is due to stock selection by weight.
Other than the side lever, the S410 and S510 haven’t changed much at all.

Hoot, nice S510 you got there! As you can see in the photo of my S410, it’s the older, bolt-actioned one. I haven’t been keeping up with Air Arms’ newer rifles. In particular, what are the differences between the S510 and the current S410?
A regulator isn’t necessary for the S410, at least for my purposes and for my gun. I’m sure it would be nice to have, but she is accurate enough to place a pellet where I want it to hit.

I found my S510 .22 to be a dead on carbine and plenty of power to boot.
However, it was too loud on full power. So I had Josh Graham make a 1″ full shroud for it. Now it is very very quiet at full power. I hear a “tink” from the valve, and a “SMACK” from the pellet impact.
I’m seriously thinking of having a bullpup stock made for it. It’s only 40″ long now, but I really have developed a taste for the very short bullpup designs.
I even checked into a regulator for it, but it appears that no one makes one, and if they did, I would only gain if I shot at 1/2 power. Quite frankly, this carbine is so accurate that I get thirty dead-on shots at full power, enough to go through and through a squirrel rib cage, and drop a possum with one shot. Barring competition, there’s just no reason to go to that expense.
I’m keeping my S510 and waiting for an Edgun Lelya. That is a sweet little .22, and plenty small enough to keep out of sight.
Tony and Jim Gaska both make an offset Talon adapter that is far better than the spin collar offered by AF. More functional with a drop down angle, QD fill, and pressure gauge. Further, both are a lot better looking than the AF spin collar.
Wok makes a wide trigger for $25. It had the same effect as a trigger job, and really made my Talon pull smoothly and evenly, with a crisp let-off. It was worth every cent.
