Q:

votex razor gen 2 or bushnell XRS

theres quite the price difference

bushy 4.5-30×50 34mm tube g2 reticle….$1760
razor 4.5-27×56 34mm tube mrad c2….$2250

i like the idea of mrad, being metric and all and easy to calculate in the head by a metric european

but theres 500 bucks difference ! i have really stretched my budget to the max and then some to afford the bushy….but all of the internet says vortex…bushy owners says its just fine…warranty is identical

its going on top of this…

rail has 10 moa built into it….do i need scope rings with extra droop as well ?….anyone have a spot to plink squirrels with this fucker ?

scope is heavy as fuck…..rifle aint no light weight either….if im going to use that rifle for hunting its gonna be from a stationary spot…or im going to mount up a lighter scope

Dayum! Looks bigger than the Gun in this Pic!

Fine Scopes for sure.

Wasn’t able to pull of a Vortex, but a New Athlon just arrived. 😉

Knife

Damn, that’s a sexy scope and gun! The scope looks very heavy though

havent tried it yet…..this is norcal…where ranges are are only open to public on few days, and not accepting application for memberships

How is the Vortex going for you? I have the Gen 2 and love it I also looked at the Bushy but went with the Razor instead based on Parallax adjustment on Razor was better for me.

yay its early xmas…..vortex came….boxed nicely…but who other than gay youtube reviewers care ?

kinda bummed scope is not real black….its dark….but not black…hmm dang wont match the RPR fuck it, this is not a fashion show !

its first focal plane mrad c2 reticle….at 4.5 zoom those lines are fine ! cant really be used….you better have the battery installed so you can light up those fine lines ! this might become an issue when hunting.

turrets are nice…..damn they are nice ! they are a bit tight but i figure they will loosen up a bit in time….zoom is smooth ditto paralax….

this thing is HEAVY ! i got the flip up covers from vortex as well…they are nice….gotta get me a dope disc for the rear flip up

tomorrow american defence 34mm quick release rings arrive and i can mount it up….

glass is uhmmmmm daaaauuuuummmm didnt see anything i want to complain about…wait i did see one thing….some motherfucker put a light finger print on the objective WTF….it wasnt me i swear….right out of the bag a smear on the lens….while cleaning it off i was like….damn its not on the outer lens its on the inside….but i was wrong….bit of alcohol for me and scope and it was clean !

this thing is short! im used to bushy 4200 6-24×40 and their legendeary legend 5-15×42 (best value scope ever) but they are long as fuck…..had a few of the chinese 6-24×56 from barska and some other chinese brand….and they are huge as well….but this is compact compared to those.

range isnt open to the public until tuesday….gdamn it….ohh well gives me some time to run some patches through the gun

its done chattet optics planet…got them talked into a 14% coupon…got the vortex….cant wait for it to get here….gonna order an american defense scope mount for it…but holding off til cyber monday to see what kind of deal i can get

the eye box worries me…..gonna hold off a week more get one more paycheck and probably get the vortex

thanks for the info

They are both excellent scopes. The Vortex has a fantastic customer service department. The Bushy has some of the best glass for the money. For holdover use, I like the G2 reticle. The Horus style windage markings are very useful.

Vortex:
better lower profile turret
Hard to turn the magnification ring
good glass
customer service
excellent eye relief

Bushnell:
great glass
nice reticle
turrets are too tall
large variable eye relief at different magnification settings

they both do what i want….thats the problem….gonna wait and see how how black friday pans out….

Go with the one with the features you want. I ended up getting that many scopes over the wish I had got another. For the money whatever you get will be good but if it does not do what your after its never going to be right.
