I’m sure you put in a lot of hard work, too bad 99% of us can’t understand a single word.

I agree totally with what he said apart from the “dirka dirka dirka” part… 😐

It looks like the Vulcan is running a thinner groove than the cricket? or possibly just less grooves? How many rifling grooves are there in the vulcan barrel?

Heres an example of a Lothar walther 9 groove .25cal barrel next to a BSA 12 groove barrel..

Heres another lothar walther v/s a FX smooth twist..

All these modern PCP barrels shoot well but the BSA has a very tight choke and shot noticeably better and is much less pellet fussy.
The interesting point to note here is that the BSA pellet is probably the most munted looking of the lot! does this mean that the high drag from the rifling grooves actually aids in stability for longer?

Looks like CZ might have a new mandrel or they wore one out ?

Edit: I quoted the wrong post !

And yes : I do defy the laws of Physics. I´m a Finn living in Sweden – and a member of this Forum to boot.

How can that be? How the rifling marks are more visible on the head than on the skirt? Do you defy the law of physics?

The pellet skirts are thin and just compress to under the bore size without the air pressure to seal it, the heads dont they are cut by the rifling lands.

What he means is wrong anyway so it doesn´t matter. The head dimesion on a Pellet is the one that´s important – not the skirt dimension. The skirt is very soft and there just to give the needed boost to the pellet- little like a seal/o-ring of a kind.

One can find out if the barrel is chocked or not by slowly pushing a pellet through the barrel using a rod. If there is resistance against the pellet at the end of the barrel then it is chocked.
