VULCAN .25 LAPPING THE BORE
Patchworm?….Check!…. Felt pellets?…….Check!….JB Bore Cleaner?………Check!………Gunzilla?……Check!
Can the Vulcan barrel be lapped this way from the breach or do I need the Dewey Rod and bore mop from the muzzle? Also looking for which items I’m missing and the CORRECT way to lap the bore, as I’ve never attempted to lap a barrel before. I’m not sure if I need to lap as accuracy is very satisfactory to me. I’m just looking to achieve any performance gains the dance will afford me…..
Will the bore paste hurt the breach o-ring or clog a transfer port?
I’m sure some of you knowledgeable Vulcanites enjoy a good lap dance every once in a while! :rofl: Thanks for any info…..

Think its pretty easy to do, I don’t have the right size allens too de-gas my gun.

Sounds like really all he did was put, added a electrical tape around the spacer, added a thin oring on the reg side.
push three parts back in.
He greased some springs & used nylon shims with the brass retainer.

I bet the most help will come from using electrical tap around the spacer.
Dee Dee u try it, tell us how it works.
Try using the electrical tap around the spacer & add a thin oring on the reg side of the spacer, first see how that works.
That way you won’t mess up, what speed your gun is shooting at, by using nylon shims with the brass retainer. Then resetting up the hammer throw setting again.

We are working on it. The usual silicone tube in the air cylinder won’t do the trick. I tried that. It’s going to take some work near the hammer. More later.

The problem with these high end pcp’s is everyone, me too, wants to “improve” them. Up till recently, there were things that needed to be done. The Vulcan has pretty much straightened out these “fix” up problems.
The only two items left on this gun is to quiet it down in .25 caliber, and to get rid of that dang “ping” when the hammer hits the valve. Personally, I’d leave everything else alone.
Lapping the barrel likely won’t hurt…but it for certain will not help accuracy. Trust us when we say the gun will out-shoot you any day on the best week of your life!
Putting chrome on an antelope won’t make it run faster!

Thanks Uncle! I totally agree and understand your points…..I have done your “shroud mod” and added John’s adapter with Donny’s LDC. The old lady next door no longer looks thru her fence when I’m exploding Sparrows across her yard at 75 yds. :rofl:
A pair of Vultures showed up this morning to address the carnage!
The only issue I see now is the “PING” you spoke of. My .25 is so quiet now the “PING” really stands outs when i shoot.
The only meaningful lap is done is done with lead and the ends of the barrel cut off afterwards for final fitting as laps double cut upon changing direction..

Some say that it has the best barrel, that can be had on an airgun.
The CZ barrel, really is hard to get out right, & is not found on too many air guns.
The more you shoot the Vulcan the better it gets.

Are you out of your freaking mind? Leave it the f*** alone and just enjoy shooting it! Your Vulcan will love you for not mucking it all up and will more than likely improve the more you shoot it! Simply cleaning the bore normally will keep it shooting well….probably better than 99% of the owners anyway.
Another thought…..after you trash the barrel where do you think you will be able to get another?
