Q:

Vulcan .25 new moderator

Hi gang

Anybody got the new moderator with or without the extra extension? Evgeny along with the new hammer and bits is offering to supply for euros 100.00 these items. The hammer and bits free of course. Basically does it reduce noise levels and is extension worth having? Is this moderator the one with different baffles? Finally does the extension affect the balance,

Safe shooting

mine also has micro holes or shal I say mine is vented on shroud.

Where are the micro holes located? Can you post a picture?

I drilled four holes in the bottom of the shroud on mine (1/8th” diameter). I put an O-ring between the shroud tube and the breech, so when I put the shroud back on I could rotate it till the holes were blowing into the foregrip, and the shroud would stay in place.

You might consider this on your existing gun as additional venting, especially into the foregrip, will help reduce the air pressure blast on the baffles when the gun is fired.

Hoot:

The gauge on mine was loose, extremely slight loss of air. Dont ask me how I found it, but you could actually hear a slight bubbling sound coming from the gauge. I needed to know what size socket to tighten and they were very responsive, even with pics of what they use in their factory….If you would like to see one specifically, let me know. 24mm, 6 point socket.

It is about aesthetic only. It does not influence the proper functioning of the shroud. The monocore is concentric.

What question did you have?

I would be pretty unhappy. Try putting the shroud on a flat surface and roll it. Looks like it’s bent to me. Customer service was very quick with a question I had about mine.

What do you think about that:

Wow, that is gen3. Evgeny does his best to tame the blast. Here we go:

So the latest design is the most efficient one? If you compare .25 gen2 with .25 gen3 both without the extensions – is there as big difference between them? How about .25 gen3 with the extension? Is it backyard friendly?

Ok so, my Tactic .25 is back yard friendly. As you know the tactics have a longer shroud which helps a lot. Also without LDC it is back yard friendly but mine also has micro holes or shal I say mine is vented on shroud. So that helps also.
Yes the new monocore is more efficient and tames the sound better.
Hope this helps.

I thought the new versions are with improved shrouds with baffle system and the mono core was the first version

Mine was from a fresh shipment to TGAG that came in 2 months or so ago. It has the monocore.

You are right. Both my vucan .22 pup and .25 Tactic have the new monocore. That’s the latest gen shrouds. The second gens had the COLIBRI style stacked version. But these Monocores are the latest and quietest so far. I’ve owned both 2nd and now 3rd gens. With DonnyFL’s LDC and the latest MoNocore, also Peters silent tune phase 2, they are both extremely quiet!! Unreal especially the .22.

Yeah..I saw these guys (U2 drivers- Black Cats) in Korea coming in for a landing having their remaining landing gears snapped in place by guys after chasing in a convertible Ford Mustangs at around a 100 mph down the runway.. 🙂

I ended up getting a carbon tube similar to yours on Ebay from Hobby King’s USA warehouse… Will use it on my FX Impact…my Vulcan is too well made to mess with…for now…

They still do it the same way. Kind of archaic, but it works.

I feel the same way about my Vulcan. I can’t mess with the stock shroud. I still have 18″ left of the carbon tube, that will be my new shroud if I can figure out how to make the chambers and vents correctly. I don’t know why they went with a monocore design, that design is excellent for powder burners but doesn’t make much sense for air.

Vulcanized….welcome to the forum! Looking at the photo and the helmet did you fly the U-2 or the SR-71 previously?

Nice rifle and nice looking LCD. Does it exhaust back in the original shroud?

Thank you! Wish I did, it was my childhood friend who was the U2 Pilot. He was an Air Force Academy grad who went on to U2 school and then to TPS. Tragically, his T38 broke up after take off from Edwards a few years ago. He was an avid shooter, even got his nick name DASH while shooting when he got hit with a ricochet….Dumb A$$ Shot Himself.

The mono-core does taper back behind the oring which directs air back to the shroud. I haven’t drilled the shroud as of yet, I would much rather extend the LDC 2″ to gain the volume needed for expansion. I am working on drawings for a full length shroud that would be vented.

Vulcanized , wondering where did you buy your 28mmx25mm carbon tube from ?

FROM : THE BIRDMAN

Hey Birdman, got it on ebay. Delivery was a little over 2 weeks. Piece was real nice, no splintering on the cuts at all.
