Q:

Vulcan Bolt

I have the knob with the 2 o-rings. I believe this is the latest version. Well, today I was able to do some shooting (a tin of 500) and during the day realized that the bolt had become unscrewed. It seems I grip and twist it during the cocking cycle. I’m sure others do this too.

What can be done to prevent this from happening but also allow removal when necessary? Locktite? Which one?

Salt, Hoot: used a used condom and said it held tight. But was a little sticky….

You can also unscrew it all the way and wrap the male threads with teflon tape then reinstall.

Make sure you degrease it first Benj.

Thanks – I’ll try the blue locktite and also make it snug with an allen wrench. Don’t want to lose that piece.

Sure would be nice to have a rolling bolt so that it rotates/spins while cocking.

I just removed the outer o ring on the knob which exposed a hole through. Stuck a Allen wrench through the hole and tightened to the point that it shouldn’t unscrew.

I found the same thing on my vulcan. A small dab of loctite blue 242 did the trick so far.
