Vulcan chrony numbers
Spent some time with the chrony today, just wondering do the numbers look ok. I was using air arms field diablo @ 16 grain.
My Vulcan is shooting good, just curious.
What do you guys think the regulator is set at going by these numbers.

No no any fuxing the gun. Let´s shoot. Regulator can sit and pressure goes slightly down. Take a patience. 😉
Now i’m in trouble :3: 5 bar with trial end error fit could take a long time 😐
Guess it’s time to make a proper reg tester………………..mmm where did I put that stainless steel.

Credit for the idea goes to “Kris” I just copied it. It will fit the gun without removal of the stock or any parts.
Anyway as you can see the reg is set to 135 bar which i think is good for my use. I intend to use 18 grain ammo at 900- 920 FPS if i can.

Kris has right. Just add more HST. According your numbers it will be 900-905fps
just fill the gun to 220 if we can trust your manometer,and turn the hammer string adjuster clockwise until you get past 900, looking at the string your gun can do 930 when everything is at optimum. so there will be no difference between 120 and 220bar power output =flat, properly regulated gun.

lowering the reg is quite a big job.
Just a quick look but I would guess around 160+. When you get the spreadsheet and chart it you will see a change in the graph. Using the change and approx bar from your string you’ll get a guess. Also I’m sure there was some guessing as to the bar at the beginning of a mag. So not exact science. Mine was originally about 160 bar too. I lowered mine to 126. Just stopped there as minute changes of the reg screw made a big difference. I used a regulator tester to set mine. Now I get 66 consistent shots at about 890 fps using 18 grain jsb. Spread is 18 for the 66 and 15 from shot 12 and to 66. I think more hst adjustment would close the spread but haven’t spent the time to adjust.

Since collecting those numbers I have removed the rubber grommet from the spring, cleaned and re-lubed the hammer.
I did leave plenty of time between shots as I wrote the figures on paper after each shot.
Any guesses as to the reg setting? Just curious.

Well, I tried to attach a screenshot of my string in an excel file but it wouldn’t upload. If you will PM me with an email address, I’ll send you an excel file to plot the string.
if you add more hammer pretension it will start with higher power in the beginning and will be flatter later. but it will cost you shotcount.
maybe you can take a picture and length measurement of the spring and hammer spring adjuster/how deep you have it screwed in so some one with the same calibre setup can confirm if it is ok. 😉
look I have got a different calibre, and much lower power setup. still getting lot more duplicates.
aha get rid of the rubber tube from the hammer spring. maybe it is just stuck between the coils.
look 10fps up and down does not make any difference. it will make mms POI difference only. when you chrony it, give it a few seconds between shots.
maybe it takes a bit longer for the regulator to fill the prechamber.
seen better performance with this gun. imo fps spread more than 10 is no good

that adapter is superb. you have got the right tooling! I think you will be fine, if you decide to lower the reg, if at all…. do it by measuring the angle/rotation, may need like 3-5degree turn only, the measurement of lenths does not work. you need to take a note of the orientation of the cross section hole on top of the brass bit which is locked by the nut then you turn the brass adjuster anticklockwise, they you do up the locking not while maintaining the setting/orientation. you can make some marks just like people here adjust the cricket etc.
that adapter saves you loads of hassle, with the clamps etc.i had to rotate the whole AT to get to the vent hole.
make a few of that adapter, they will sell.
