Q:

Vulcan leaking on high pressure vent tube hole. THROUGH the reg or AROUND the reg?

I first noticed the gun shooting erratic and was leaking down air overnight. I tried filling it to 300 and then to 250 bar and the velocity was way way down. It would not stabilize velocity until about 200 bar.

It was as zero psi tonight and when i tried filling it, i could hear air leaking from under the stock back toward the back of the air tube. I removed the stock, noticed the air was leaking from the forward atmospheric bleed hole. I replaced the o rings on the outer body of the reg thinking air was passing on the HP side exterior o ring. Still leaking.

When i attempted to disassemble the reg per Ernest’s video, I cannot loosen the two halves.

Do you know if the leak is THROUGH the reg or AROUND the reg?

and is there any tips to splitting the reg halves without damaging it?

Thanks!

Thanks for the quick reply, I also ordered o’rings and they just arrived. I am going to do the same to see if it would fix my issue.

Yes.
I determined that the leak was coming from the reg.

Rather than try to figure out what oring(s), I decided to just replace all of them.

Any final result?
I am having a similar issue with my Vulcan .25 Gen4.
It started several weeks ago when I was filling the gun, when the fill pressure reaches 200bars or higher, the air start to leak out quickly through a tiny vent hole about two-three inches from breech. There are two holes, the air is coming out from the one closer to the pressure gauge. It is holding at 200Bars overnight, no slow leaks yet.

I have been searching the forum and watching some youtube vids and investigate inside of the gun. I am guessing mine is leaking around the outside of reg, since my leaks start at 200Bar, way pass the 140bar or so of the reg setting.

i got similar to this

doubleck what diameter of the pin is.

some idiot must have overtightened it. no need to do that, wont make o rings seal better.
are you sure you are not turning it the wrong way round
needle nose pliers should work really.

I don’t own a Vulcan but it sounds like it’s leaking on the inside probably the small O-ring is worn.
If you’r going in there I’d change them all.

Use a box wrench for the notched side but on the two hole side you might need to make or buy a tool/wrench.

Use a thick metal plate a drill two hole of the size and distance need to fit into the holes.
Cut the bits smooth ends to use as rods to go into the holes ……….. that should work as a good strong Pin Wrench .
Keep the metal plate as close to the reg as possible to minimize distorting the two reg holes.

OR

Insert the two cut off of the bit into the reg holes and clamp the bit ends into a table vise and the rest is straight forward.
