Q:

Vulcan Tactic Shroud

I have an early 2016 model Vulcan Tactic in .25 and it has the older style Shroud internals (basically a single tube with various holes cut into it) I think it is referred to as the gen 1 shroud??? Anyway, this thing is not very quiet and needs an additional moderator on the end. I was wondering does anyone make a set of internals for the Vulcan rifles that are like the ones used in the Mutant? I seem to recall Top Gun Airgun had some way back when Peter was in charge, and that there were new internals from Airgun Technology? Do all the newer vulcans come with the new mutant like baffles, and can they be retrofitted to my Tactic?

Thanks Donny

I’ve tried them all bud, don’t waste your money. I thought the Mutant/Colibri baffles would help suppress the sound even more but it doesn’t. Those guys are still screwing on an LDC.

Thanks Donny, I realize I need an LDC at the end, I was just trying to make it as quiet as I could in standard form. I already have an LDC adaptor to put on my FatBoy or Weihrauch .25 LDC. Here are the various options I have seen. My tactic is a gen 3 or 4 but has the earlier model Shroud baffles at the top of this picture.

There is not much of difference between the earlier gen shroud vs newer ones. Newer one just has an adapter to allow you to screw on an LDC. However, the adapter is not 1/2 x 20 but M14 x 1.25. I would not waste much money on trying to change the baffles in the shroud. What it comes down to with the Vulcan is that you need a can at the end. The .25 is a powerful gun like any other .25 just a shorter gun so you need to control the muzzle blast. TGAG when Petr was running it, offered a newer version, in reality it was just the OEM baffles with additional holes drilled into it.

You have a few options for LDC
1. Get a 1/2 x 20 adapter from Dman or John Hagan. Then you can screw on any 1/2 x 20 LDC you want
2. I think you can probably get a gen 4 shroud from Talon Tunes Tony with the M14x1.25 adapter. He also carries LDCs that are 1/2 x 20 or M14x1.25
