Q:

Vulcan Tactical .25 cocking issue

Hi guys!

I just received my new Vulcan tactical .25 from TalonTunes two days ago. All its ok except for the cocking action. The forward phase cocking its extremly hard to do when i use the magazine pellet loader. The problem disapear if I put the pellet manually in the rifle. I put some oil on the lever action area and nothing happened yet.

Any tip to solve this?

Thank you all

The action does work itself in quite well.
That is great shooting it only gets better doesn’t it?
I appreciate the business thank you Tony

Hi Guys,

I have been shoot more than 400 pellets and the coking forward step it’s going better. The nice thing is the accuracy is much better now!. I shoot over 50 meters and I had 8 shots on 13 mm (1 flyer)….really awesome.

That’s the perfect remedy for the hard loading caused by the sharp leade angle. Don’t t see how thousands of pellets will iron that out.
However, on a separate note, there are some magazine issues too that are annoying.

Mine has over 3000 rounds thru it and it’s still not very smooth so I asked Ernest Rowe his thoughts and his reply…

quote :

The smooth bore has to be slightly engage and angle cut the rifling for smoother loading of the pellet.
Have done that to 3 other .25

So I sent him my barrel to work on…will report back on the results.

My wife’s Vulcan .25 almost feels like it’s jamming with the mag in use. You basically have to use an unusually quick and forceful forward motion on a new gun. It’s against intuition, but a slow, careful motion is not the ticket. Her gun has under 300 pellets through it, so it’s still rough.

this breaking in thing what you mean is to have wear on the pellet probe or on the brass slider?

This is not exclusive to Tactics. My bullpup was the same way. After reading on here a lot, it seemed common so I did nothing. I just continued to shoot it. Now, to me at least it’s smooth and easy… guess it’s just a “breaking-in” thing, but I wouldn’t worry about it.

If it’s any help. My Vulcan tactic was hellish tough to push the bolt forward and seat the pellet. I have only put around 100 pellets through it, but it is way better already.

Thank you guys…so I will shoot and lube it!

Mine too worked it self out after about 1000 pellets, a little lube also helps.

You need to put a few hundred shots through it before it starts to bed in and feel smoother. Mine is doing that too. Sometimes the bolt/probe does not seem to engage the pellet and let it seat well. It should get better.

I am using JSB king 25 grains

What pellet are you using?
