Q:

vulcan to-be rifle bench and shooting vice

so i “needed ” a shooting vice and work bench for the vulcan but i have spent all my extra” metal detecting money” “pcp money” on this hobby so spending 150.00 for the vice i wanted ” the p3 ultimate gun vice” i needed to make one ….i was going to use thick steel trailer hitch stuff but then in the yard at work i see this stop sign and it hit me LOL so i grabbed it and today made my first cuts…. its nice stuff one tube slides nicely into the other and it has any adj.i may need so. now i just need to come up with the middle part that clamps to the stock and i’ll make two for it to hold real good also a small padded bench like on the p3 for now i will use bolts to hold everything together that way i can change anything i want until i figure out what works best then do some welding of brackets also need to make the “y” for the front i have some horse mat rubber thick stuff for that and the clamp brackets …. also large bolts to go on the ends of the “T” it will give me 4 way adj. for leveling …… also i will be able to take the back “T” off if wanted just to do up-down adj. but with the right bolts should be able to do that with it on any ways “what do u guys think ” the #1 pic is the first cut,pic #2 is with the “t” legs in all the way
and the #3 pic is with the legs all the way out… the front “T” is adj. from 20″ to 36″ wide the back legs are adj. from 11″ to 17″ the “Y” is adj. from 8″ to 14″ i will also make a smaller “Y” just because … it is 27″ long all subject to change LOL i will be able to put the Front and rear “T” leveling bolt in the end ether adj. in or out

Kris,
EBay has a new model of the PanaVise 350 NIB.
I think it is for heavier items.

the devil is in the details. so want to see the final product
😀

i did a bit of research i think this PanaVise 350 is what Sniperqty is using, and i have not find anything better yet.

2 of those in a single base and you are sorted. and you can use it for other stuff…. so no waste

in due time first need to get it all fixed up.. all the clamps to hold the rifle clamps like the p3 and a “y” for the front of the gun i’ll get that tomorrow and some welding …. it bolts up tight as heck with “L” brackets and bolts so just need the right bracket to make the clamps to hold the rifle it will come together then paint and yes red white and blue ..or camo a little fire and steel bending to make the “Y” but hey if i can make cool knives i’m sure this should be nothing ….. and free !!!! and glue on the rubber horse mats there like 1/2″ thick on the “Y” and rifle clamps that will stop any damage to the gun good to go….

I pretty well cleared all the metal out of my yard years ago. Discovered I’m just across the street from a 1910 something exploratory oil well. Must have been a tool shed on my lot. Just glad all those broken files I found hadn’t poked up and destroyed my lawnmower. Actually did shear the keyway pin when I hit an old capped gas pipe.

I like your idea to make the rifle rest collapsable. It will look a lot different if you paint it with truck bed liner or wrap it with duct tape (camo pattern of course)
