Q:

Want something in 30 or 357

I posted this on AGN also but did not get the response I was looking for. I want a bullpup or carbine, so I was thing about the bobcat mk2 30. I have been drawn to it since I first saw it but didnt want to spend that money on an air rifle but we know once the bug has bitten it all goes out the window.
So here it is i have the Vulcan in 25, mrod in 25 and a disco in 22. They are all excellent shooters but ultimately I want just two so the mrod and disco have to go and enter 30 or 357. with this in mind:
NIce shot count
100yrd grouping
repeater
regulated
I dont really tinker so not interested in having to mod it to achieve the results i am after
The main purpose is for ground hog hunting but still want to take it into the woods so the RAw and Boss while beautiful rifles are out of the line up
not bias to a brand
Dont want a problem child I have four of them already!

Since the OP mentioned regulated, I never suggested the Rainstorm or MAX-ML but ho boy, I sure love my Rainstorm .30

the gun handle like a dream and is very very accurate, also very tunable and power can be changed easily

here is along ongoing review

Manny, can you get to the hammer spring easily on the ML pup?

Yes same way,

The MAX-ML and Sniper are the same platform just a bit beefed up to take the extra power of the .357 .45 and .50 cal

The basic operation is exactly the same, you can check my review of the MAX-ML .45

The raw is one of the nicest rifles built, but it’s considerably more heavy than a marauder. It’s more suitable more BR matches or stationary hunting. On paper the weight may be similar, but in actual handling you can feel the difference.

If I was in the market for a .30/.35 for hunting I’d probably opt for a less expensive gun. Maybe a rainstorm or a ML pup and I’d try to find a stock maker and throw the sepatia stock in the wood stove.

Ordered the HM1000x 30 now the 12 week wait.

I sent an email asking for the price and lead time on the AmericanAirArms EVOL carbine and have gotten nothing back. RAW on the other hand was on the ball. Fx terrifies me with any of their stuff based on all the negative feed back. I will definately not gamble on them after all it is $2000 and I wont gamble on that. Crickets are about like the vulcan and it has quite a bit of mussel jump and in 30 it would be more. So that leaves one choice the RAW. The marauder I have fully dressed weights 11.4 lbs I have packed it through the woods many times.

TheoBens have always been heavy, it’s a super solid platform that comes with weight, I shot one in .20 cal and it was a big heavy gun,

Just seems like a strange choice after your initial requirements of a Carbine or Bullpup.

My understanding is that the Raw isnt but an inch longer than my dico with the 6inch TKO and it inst much heavier than my marauder. I will find out how long the wait is soon enough. I did see that R&L Airguns seem to have to choices of RAW 30’s on hand now.

I have decided to order the Raw hm1000x in 30 cal. After taking time to think and do more research I really wanted a rifle after all. Thanks for the feed back.

Wow, from wanting a Carbine or Bullpup to going for a RAW, interesting,…those things are long and heavy.

Was there any mention of how long it would take to get to you? I am very seriously considering a hm1000x .30 as well for a 2017 purchase and I’d like to know if I will have to expect a long wait.

Check these guys out, Everything I have read on the guns sounds good, and that Pirate guy seems to like them.

Hi

Iride

I accept you are a keen airgunner as I am and agree with a lot of your posts.

However

I have a cricket in .22 very nice etc etc

Logged on to my local dealer in France, Armurerie Auxerre.
They have video clips of the 9 mm (.357) Cricket shooting. This guy is a good shot. Make your own mind up.Accuracy wise.
I posted either here or AGN anyone shooting 100 yards groups with this gun? Ie less than a barn door. Not one reply.
No axe to grind against Kalibr or other makes.
Back to posters question

New models just out or coming out, let the bugs be cleared before buying.
Current guns
Wait a bit and buy the Impact in.30 or buy now and send straight to Ernest.
No experience with .30 or bigger just think
Big calibre guns normally poor shot count, lightweight equals kick and shooting knack needed.
Eg in PB who makes a ,50 bullpup, new shoulder anyone.?
Willing to learn from those big calibre airgunners though

Safe shooting
