Wanted: scew with the knob for fast shroud removal/install
Anyone know where I can buy a replacement screw that has a knob on.
I dont want to carry/look for wrench to remove the shroud each time.
What are the thread size on it?

Dont get me wrong. I want to thank you and everyone else for the help. Your post #4 was the first one that was helpful and I shouldve grabbed the stock screw with me.
but on post #2 I was given completely wrong info that I trusted, because it came from member with thousands of posts and the answer was straight forward without any doubt.
All I am trying to say is if you are not sure… dont post it. 😉
And if you’re not sure, don’t run immediately to the store and get it. 😉 Would you like to borrow my allen tool or a tap? you can tighten the 10/24 up and it’ll work fine.

its 100% a 10-32.

I drive past that place every day when I go to Fencing. Do you know if they carry SS 10-32 set screws?
I went to one on Airport Rd. I will go back tomorrow to return the wrong screws and get 10-32s

#10-32 for sure…
I just pulled one of mine out to look and it looks like 24 TPI but shit I may be wrong. It could also be one that was just force threaded.

it could be, to be honest I have forgotten what size it is, it may be in “the big file” in the quick reference section, but your best bet is to bring your grub screw down to tacoma screw and put it in one of there size thingy’s

your local hardware store will have what you want, just bring your grub screw with you and tell them that you want a thumb screw in the same size, 3/8 or 1/2 inch will do it for you.

I am guessing you allready have your set screws, I read your post yesterday and thought that might not be a bad idea the only trouble with that I thought is the size didn’t want it to be over bearing! what I have here in the picture I used to use at a place I worked you buy allen head bolts steel or stainless steel I like stainless for guns, anyway this little knurled knob presses into the head of the allen bolt I use a small vise with smooth jaws works great, also I use loctite just to make sure it stays on good you probably don’t have to use the loctite but I usually do.
