Wanting to buy .. Talon SS or Condor ..

Hey guys, I’m a newbie here and I just got my Talon SS last week and I’m stunned from my first time experience with the Talon SS. Most of all, Airhog.com did their part in making sure I got what I paid for. As soon as I got home and saw the package, you can tell it’s like the best Christmas present ever even though I bought it myself and it’s not Christmas yet.
I took it downstairs to my own room and watched the DVD. It’s very informative and you should watch that before you do anything.
I then put on the scope and the day after that I sighted it in and I’m impressed by how accurate it is. Whatever you sighted on was that…nothing less. I love it and I’m convinced that AF stands for quality stock air rifles. I was into spring rifles and pump pneumatic, but after my first PCP–The Talon SS…I got this because my neighbors are close by and I shoot out of my bedroom window and retrieve the kill (tree rats) later. I will never go back to springers or pump pneumatics again.
I fill with my scuba tank as I got it for my paintball guns and my Drozd so now all my guns use HPA and it’s the best system I’ve seen yet. Easy to use resource and readily available. I’ve tried CO2 and believe me…they’re not anywhere close to HPA.
It is deadly accurate. The gun will do its part when you do your part. I will be going hunting with this gun than go with a .22 LR next year.
I live in a mostly rural area & sound is not a MAJOR consideration. I am leaning towards a .20 cal. gun. I will be using this gun mostly for target & maybe hunting “tree rats>>> 🙂 I have SEVERAL firearms & am a stickler for PRECISION shooting. I recently purchaced a Benjamin Super Streak..SUCKED BAAAADDDD!! In researching these guns it seems that changing cal. & mods. are relatively easy . I talked to a gentleman named Jerry Augustine in Ill. that has been airgunning for a LONG time . 25 yrs. He HIGHLY recommended the Talon line . So , probably later I will purchase different barells . 1st – Welcome. I’m a new guy too (not to airguns but def. to PCP’s and to the forum)
You’re talking about two potentially very different guns when it comes to power output and sound levels in both stock and modded forms (depending upon what mods you may go for).
What caliber are you leaning toward?
Tell us about the type of shooting you have in mind. 10-50 yard target/plinking/hunting vs 100yrd target/hunting will probably drive many opinions. Are you shooting in your backyard? If so, do you have nearby neighbors?
I’ve learned a lot here in past few weeks.

Since noise is not a major issue for you, I would start with a Condor. You’ll likely want more power when you find out what they’re capable of. These guns are really made for the larger calibers… .22 and even .25.
Barrels are easily swapped if you decide you want shorter or other calibers. They are all about equally accurate. Longer range warrants a larger pellet for wind doping.
