Warning: Gamo raptor gold pellets contain "IRON"..
After reading a post by LURKER #1 saying Gamo Raptor Gold pellets moved when a magnet was passed by them, I decided to test myself?
Results: Gamo raptor gold pellets contain Iron. They all moved, and My magnet actually could pick 2 of em up. I mean just barely, and they would fall off if you breathed on em.
But a pellet should not react to a magnet @ ALL. The gamo package states “Real Gold” on the label. Advertising states “True 18K gold plating eliminates barrel corrosion while enhancing accuracy”. All so states “Performance Ballistic Alloy (PBA) increases velocity up to 25% and delivers 25% more energy than lead for double the penetrating power. ”
I used magnets salvaged from worn out microwave oven magnetrons. Most appliance repair shops have stacks of em on hand.
Don’t think I’ll be buying Gamo pellets, Used em for demo of springer Sonic Boom. Gets that WOW factor when trying get someone into this hobby.

I tend to think most here would like to tell prospective buyer’s that the pellet has “IRON” in them? The composition is mostly tin, with nickel, copper, titanium and iron in descending order of volume.

doesnt say they are made of gold and only gold !
doesnt state at witch distance the increased velocity is measured
doesnt state at witch distance the increased energy is measured
imho they are crap….they have to have a thin layer of gold on them to keep the iron from touching your barrel and start corroding
why are we still discussing these pellets….they are a marketing scam….and crap to shoot

I have never shot gamo pellets except out of cheap springers so this is just another reason to not use them.
