We need heavy ballistic tip pellets
It would be awsome to have a kodiak with a ballistic tip. With a weight of 20 or so grains. We need jumbo predators. Do you think its possible for us to force a company to make them 😈

Seems to be mixed reviews on the preds. I’ve seen claims of good groups out to 60 yards. If in reality they don’t do that, then they arn’t much use.
Sorry Jerry couldn’t resist 🙂 I can’t wait for some 25 action with Jerry’s slugs too. I think my first post was asking about the .22 version of Jerry’s slugs!
I would have to agree with Jerry… The predator for me has shot well to 25 yards and have been great for that and best for just shooting paper… They punch really perfect round holes in the paper…
They have never been good at all much over that distance and in the wind forget them… To hunt with, they are fun to watch them hit a black bird when shot at 1000fps and at 25 yards…
But I have these pellets on impact roll as they hit, best that I can tell; not bringing the black bird down very well… Hit in the big wing bones just forget them…
They are not the Kodiac, EJ- 28gr or the JSB’s for hunting… Still I love shooting Predators at the 25 yard range out the back of my shop from my Condor… They don’t shoot well at all from my Rapid MKII… They fit nice and snug in the chamber of the barrel and they use a soft lead alloy…
Price of these is a little stiff for something that doesn’t hunt very well for me anyway… Might be different if they had more weight to them, but then they wouldn’t fit the magazines of guns that have them…
We just need the Jerry slugs to shoot from the .22’s and see what we end up with those… No frills just tight fitting, bulky mass heading toward POI hard and fast… Thats what gets r done…

The gamo copys suck ass. I havent tried them but i saw a tin at cabelas and half the tips were missing. I have found the preds to work good for me but everyones has there own opinion.

Uh, no, we won’t be adding any plastic to our slugs anytime soon. Nor will we come out with a Predator competitor.
The predator is a widemouth HP pellet. It has a little plastic cone that some believe has near mystical properties. I’ve not seen that. I have a tin in the ammo drawer and I’ve only got one rifle that shoots them accurately but only at about 20 yards or so. Some have had FAR better results. Those folks should continue to use the pellets and are justified in extoling their virtues. But, there might be some exaggeration regarding that plastic tip’s effects on impact. The testing I did consistently showed penetration and expansion on par with other wide mouth HPs and the tip broke off right after impact as the body of the pellet passed it by.
MY results are just that, MY results. I find that any pellet that hits a bird or squirrel in the proper spot kills it. I’ve not seen any reason to use the Preds based on MY results which show better accuracy with other pellets.
We don’t have any reason to copy the Pred design or features based on performance or usage of the slugs we make. I also would not copy that design out of courtesy much less copyrights etc… Unlike Gamo! What a freaking travesty that is.

What you could do is cut the point off of a Kodiak, drill a little hole in it, remove the tip from a Pre., put it on the Kodiak, and you will have a heavy ballistic tip pellet. 😆

I’ve only shot them in my 48 out to 30 yards and they grouped well there. JSB 18’s grouped better though.
