Weird .30 question
Okay, Just to make it clear: I’m not going to get into a discussion about stock valving with a .30, or the length of the barrel… This is a probing question. I have an idea, and am wondering what you guys think. Would it work or not.
I have a 12″ .30 barrel, and I want to build something with it. I want quiet. Would it be okay if I went with a TalonSS frame or even a CondorSS frame with such a short barrel? I would think, as far as frame length it’s the same idea as an extension, but built in… The valve will be stock, but I’ll have Tony do some of his magic to it. I’m not trying to push it too much further than stock. Thinking of going with a TalonP tank, because I have a stock idea. Like a maddog, but more tactical. No I’m not building this for sale, just for me. Pics so you see what I’m thinking:

Standard tanks are just a wee bit too long for what I want to do. I hope by the pictures you guys can see where I’m going with this as far as the stock. Yes, it would mount just like a maddog stock- why re-invent the wheel?
SHORT, SHORT VERSION OF THE QUESTION: Will a 12″ barrel work in a TalonSS or CondorSS frame? Thoughts?

I have bought two of those Talon raw extrusions for this project and a .257 project… I said screw it and decided on using a standard talon tank, gone over by Tony… When I get the body done of course… He should be able to quiet it down for me too… Don’t know yet. I’m thinking the TT Tank Cover, w/the Tank Adapter, Talon tank gone over by Tony, right side feed only, side cocker, M1913 monolithic rail on top w/a silencer from Tony, and a WOKGuard15… Not sure what to do for the forend. I think this would be a nice knock-around gun for the local farms… plus a lot more shots for the .30… and quiet 😈

why thank you knifemaker!! well, using the valve in mostly stock form, kinda upping the power wheel… should be somewhere around the same performance as a .25 TalonP right? As long as it’s around 10 good shots I’m gonna be happy… I also hope the stock idea works out… I’m about to get some mold making material, and it sure is pricey!!
Yes it will. 😉 As will the talon-p tank, as long as you don’t want more than a couple of shots from it before re-fil.

Here’s a thought- What output psi would be good to sling a 44gr JSB pellet out of a 12″ barrel?? Just wondering, I’m going to experiment with an adjustable tank valve… from China. Our brothers in Brazil have had very good success with them. Everything else would be stock Talon. Thanks all!!
