Q:

WEIRD question

It’s a little oddball… If I wanted to get some tubing that matched the AF frame, what size would I use? I have an idea for a Rapid shroud, but need the tube- I’m going to use an AF sound loc kit, and use some tube, and voila, a full barrel shroud- the only hard part will be an endcap… I suppose I could use a modified SS endcap though. It’s only for a 12 fpe rifle, so I think the sound loc should quiet it down enough. Thoughts?

Ok inside of frame is 1.010″- 1.016″. That is what I have seen. I don’t think the baffles or bushings will fit in 1″ tubing. I don’t have any stock bushings to measure but I don’t think they are that small.

Answered my own question… really basic measurements, 1.25″ O.D. w/a 1″ I.D. found some tube on OnlineMetals… wonder if it’s good enough for what I have planned…

Here’s what I want to do:

Since the AF and Theoben barrels are the same O.D. (16mm) I plan on using both the drilled bushing and the rear bushing from the Sound Loc kit as shroud mounts (I don’t need the back (near the action) to look pretty… it’s going to be used, A LOT. Of course, the blast baffle, and other baffles will be used as normal, and top it off w/the SS cap, modified w/a second grub screw… The aluminum tube of course will cover all of this. Again, Thoughts? :8:
