Welding Silencers to an AF Barrel?
I posted this idea on the Shroud forum but here’s a little idea for the machinists out there. (and a new thread)
Why not buy stock barrels from AF and weld a permanent silencer to it and sell the modified barrel to AG owners. Alternatively receive a barrel or AF gun in the mail and do the same.
That would be 100% legal since the barrel is clearly for AG use and the silencer is welded to it.
Thoughts? Pitfalls? Costs?

one other point on this…
a while back I had a convo with AZ regarding this. He stated that in his opinion it was potentially a bad deal to thread choked airgun muzzles as it had the potential to alter the dynamics of the choke
doesnt matter with big bores or other slug shooters
figure press fitting would be even more ifandicular as to what it might do to the choke
Best bet would be a combo of high temp. silver solder combined with dual blind pins
works for extended firearms bbls
press fit alone isnt enough WOK
years back folks were press fitting CAR FS’s on 11.5 AR bbls, FTB stopped that as it was a non permenent install
a tack weld works too but is problematic for accuracy if you set your heat too high
Would any of these methods deform the barrel?
So long as the AG barrels aren’t SAAMI Pressure Rated we’re home and dry.
Press fit would probably be better

How could you take it off without destroying it with a press fit? If done with a press it will never come off again and would have to be cut off to be removed.
