Q:

Well, cops just showed up…..

The local PD just paid me a visit. Apparently one of my neighbors complained the I was “shooting a pellet gun in my backyard.” The officer was very nice and reminded me that while it is legal to shoot a “pellet or BB gun” in my backyard that I need to remember that fences have cracks, kids, dogs, etc

I explained that I had a well designed trap backed by a 3′ x 12′ section of brick wall. Metal electrical box with three inches of duct seal BTW.

I’m off for the next two weeks so this could be a daily occurrence.

I guess I don’t have it so bad after all. Permits for pellet guns is ridicules.

In my town it is illegal to discharge anything period. I blow gun is even mentioned. No slingshot nothing! Nj also treats a red ryder like a 30-06 as far as the law goes. I need a permit to get a red ryder. It is actually easier for me to buy a 30-06 than a pellet gun. A pellet pistol is the same as a .357 mag I need a pistol permit after getting a firearms pusrchsers ID card. Each additional pellet pistol would require another permit. Just like a .357 or even a .454 casual.

So, given that a little lead seems to scare the crap out of a neighbor, anyone know where I can get a good LDC for a Brocock? I hate the idea of excess lead getting into the yard.

Southwest may be good. Southeast isn’t. I had a cop come cruising up and tell me I couldn’t be shooting. It is against the law to shoot airguns in the city limits here, but I have permission from everyone around to kill all of the squirrels and shoot as much as I want. I think someone way down the road managed to see me and call. I am against a lot of woods, so it’s not like I’m shooting into another house. The guy was nice and just told me not to. Granted, I did take the condor inside and bring a daisy out when I saw the car. Figured there was no need in him seeing a big scary airgun. 😆

Wait till you get the COP who tries to convince you that your shooting a Firearm not an Air Gun. Local Ordinances clearing state the difference. Sure glad they know the Laws their enforcing 🙄

Hi Ben, it sounds like it’s time for you to get a foutain or other water feature in your backyard. The pleasant water sounds will drown out your shooting sounds. Just a thought.

I live in CT, with 1 acre. Two police came to my house on a complaint from my neighbor that I was shooting tree rats. Of coarse I denied the accusation and showed them my 30 – 120 yd range I have set up. They said to have fun shooting but trapping and poisoning were ok but shooting them was not. I’m up to 46 this season alone, lead poison of coarse. When I don’t have my AAA in my hand 4-6 tree rats can be spotted in my yard at curtain times of day. I think those little fuckers know what the black stick is for.

Well, I was shooting an aa410 WITH a mini mod. I could understand if it was a condor (sounds like a .22 rifle) but this thing is relatively quiet. Or so I thought.

Need to move to the south west like other members here.

Don’t you love it? When I had my condor without a shroud on it.. 3 cruisers rolled up on my house.

I live in the suburbs.. woods in the back.. city down the street.
