Q:

Wet shroud

Anyone run their baffles wet? It is known to greatly improve effectiveness in other platforms. I’m not sure if being damp would affect trajectory enough to clip? Or if water even helps on airguns?

I’ve never heard of anyone doing that- suppressors are expensive! I’ve heard of grease used on monocores, but that’s about it… and mostly for .22lr.

It will add a nice rusty patina to the interior of your barrel. So why not! 😀

Caboose, powder burners literally just dip the device in water. No extra cost or mods. Just a little water added. Looks like running wet won’t help us anyway.

The only “wet” setup would be some kind of grease on the baffles, but I don’t think it would be all that effective for our purposes… leave the extra expense to the powder burners. There’s also the fact that eventually you’ll have to replace what’s blown out- added cost to an already expensive (albeit FUN) hobby. Why bother?

Water is used to cool the hot gasses on “other” platforms not up for discussion here. I don’t think it would be applicable to
Air guns. But hey, I’ve been wrong before. :4:
