Most polishes have petroleum distillates in them, so be careful of where it slops into.

If you start out with a too fine of grit its like polishing a gravel road if this makes sense.

you need to knock down the bumps quick , then change to a lesser grit, and then finally polish .

I have used car buffing compound(1500) and then finished off with TurtleWax chrome polish.

i was originally going to just pull the tank and do it,
but i figured if i had the barrel out and the bushings off it would be easier to keep the pasty gunk off the rest of the gun.

no need to tear it down , just pull the tank and go.

i quit when i could pull a tight patch the entire length with a nice smooth feel to it,from stock, you can feel the difference when it smoothes out,

lol well im not a “really” cheap ass LOL just a regular cheap ass HAHAHA

i had thought about the baking soda, and it would probably work fine finished with the flitz,or even just the flitz by itself.

but then i also started looking at things i already have….automotive rubbing and polishing compounds ,
and thought the rubbing compound would work well.

i even thought about some stuff i have for aluminum wheels “nevr-dull”

i may give the rubbing/polishing compound a try,i dont believe it could hurt the barrel and may do the trick.

but then again………..it shot really good yesterday when trying some baracudas over my usual jsb kings that i hate to tear it apart now LOL

Humm, really old school, baking soda on an oiled patch, then the flitz. :8:

This is for the really cheap asses! 😆

Knife

flitz polish
brasso, has abrasive and amoneya
valve lapping compound , comes in different grits

crest toothpaste , but is very fine

Iosso bore polisher…

Roachcreek was selling a lapping kit on here, not sure if it sold or not.

ill probably just give up and order some jb,and then kick myself in the ass for paying that much for shipping LOL

i looked at that,

but i just hate to spend so much for something im only gonna use once or twice LOL

and i havent bought some jb online yet because i hate paying 8 bucks shipping for a 4 dollar item :confusedn: LOL

yeah LOL im cheap
