What could be wrong? Random "Soft Shots"…
Well I took my Condor(.22) and swapped in a 24″ barrel in .25. Took it to the range the other day, 2,800psi fill pressure, Power Wheel on 4…
While seasoning the barrel up, it started to show signs of grouping at 50yds., granted I only had a 9 power scope on it compare to the 32 – 50x scopes I’m normally used to…
Well I filled up with air again, would start shooting and I’d get 2 – 3 shots touching, maybe a couple drifting laterally in the wind, then a few that sounded weak with POI about 4″ low. Then the POI would shift back up 4″ for a few shots then drop again 4″!
Topped off with air again, 2,800 psi, turned the wheel to 6, first few shots about 4″ high, then a few soft ones dropping around 4″, then sounding normal and back up 4″ where the first few shots were.
I know I need to chrony it to see how much its swinging but have you ever seen this before?
Any idea of what might be causing it and how to fix it? Sticky valve, hammer(felt and sounded normal), etc?
Regards,
Tony
