Q:

what do you think

hello all.

i have a 1500psi regulator that i have been playing around with to try and get more power from but it does not work too well – i get over 20fps spread and i cant get the pellet moving over 805fps.

i have it back at 1500psi now and that gets me 733-730fps over 20 shots so i am chuffed with that but it is way too slow.

the 730fps is based on a 21.4g bismags. i do not have any lighter pellets to test with and i am not keen on forking out £5 (yep i am tight) on a tin that i might not use.

is there a way of working out how fast a 14g pellet will move with the same output (1500psi)

thanks all

I don’t understand what you are asking?

sorry i was not very clear. i get the heavy pellets along at 730fps so if you get the same speed i could expect something like 815 fps from the lighter pellet.

did you say something I was drooling on the screen looking at your avatar

I don’t understand what you are asking?

the 16g air arms go along between 811 and 809fps and group well but they are too light for my liking.

i have my standard bottle sending the 21.4g bismags along at 925fps down to 850fps on the 25th shot. not the best string so i will try and get the regulated system working with a lighter pellet.

I don’t think there is a reliable method of predicting the speed of a different pellet within a very tight error range. That said, going off experience and gut, I’d say you can expect 800-820 with the lighter pellets. You might as well spend the money if you are going for higher velocity…

My Talon with an 18 inch barrel shoots 14.3g JSBs 85fps faster than 21.1g Kodiaks.
