What does a Talon do to a CP pellet in Flight…Pictures.
Hi Folks,
Just thought of sharing pictures of a Crossman Premier pellet that leaves a Talon Lothar Walther barrel.
This is how it would be just before striking the target !!!
Just love what rifling does to a pellet.
The scars in the picture would give you some idea.
Wanted to film it but due to the size of the pellet and the limitations to my camera these were the best pictures I could share.

That’s not my work Saw, just happened to stumble across the site before. He’s got a big database of different types of pellets he’s photographed too.

Did you fire it into some ultra soft medium, or push the pellet with a rod?
I’m curious about how you got such clean rifling indents without destroying the head or tail of the pellet?
The close up shots are really clean. Do you have a macro lens, or just a really good digital?

By the above subject I meant, the pellet state, before it knocks a target.
Now that doesn’t mean I ‘ll be rolling my ass on the floor to click a pic like that.
I dont deny, the subject could mislead and thats the reason I did key in a the summary to clear things….and so the explanation followed with the subject.
Bcauz once its hits the target the shape of the pellet is always hampered, if not badly but yes to a certain extend.
I was surprised to see these pellets in my pellet trap with just the scars and so the post.
Next time I ‘ll have to vote before deciding on the subject… 😉
To answer a few queries :
> When I dial down my talon ss which has an upgraded .22 18″barrel it does 490 fps. I have put 2 gunny bags in my home made pellet trap and these were caught in them.
Do note the pellets were fired at 10 yards range indoors when I was doing target practice.

Its a Sony H15 and believe me if you intend to purchase one you will not regret your decision. It worth the bucks……
Mine costed me 235$.
This thing clicks great pics on Macro and Auto mode.
